I saw this on Newsday and wondered if it was a Bachelorette party.
How freakin' terrible, and now add on the fact that once again it was a drunk driver who hit them.

That is sad. Another a-hole drunk driver taking several lives. Earlier this week (Sunday) a father and his 2 children were killed by a drunk driver on the Southern State Parkway.

And in addition, the limo driver seems to have been reckless as well.
Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley told SoutholdLocal.com that the limo driver apparently cut off the pickup truck. ”It was a dangerous move,” Flatley said, according to the report. “This is what we’ve always been afraid of.”
So we have a deadly combination of a drunk driver and a reckless driver.
What a shame all around.

it seems it was just two wrong moves colliding and these women lost their lives. A drunk driver on the road converging with the limo making a u-turn in front of him and the women paid the ultimate price. So awful.

This is so awful. My best friend was at a bachelorette party today, in a limo, and I saw her FB check in at that same vineyard. As soon as I saw that news, my heart sunk and I assumed it was her limo. I texted her asap, and she replied it wasn't her, and it happened about .5 mile ahead of hers. They were all crying, they had just been with these same girls moments before. So tragic, those poor families.

Daily mail UK of course has a far superior story than Newsday. Amazing how the UK knows more what's going on than we do on LI.
The bride is in serious condition but 4 of her bridesmaids dead. Here all believed to have been from the NYC area. The drunk driver tried to flee but was captured. This is beyond horrific.

Sounds like it may have been the actual wedding not the bachelorette party. All the girls were in black party dresses. All were 24-25. Horrible.

This is so, so terrible. These girls were so young...and got a limo I'm sure so none of them would be drinking and driving, and they fall victim to some selfish asshole.
Between the DWI, the reckless driving, the cell phone use...it's hard to feel safe on the roads anymore.

Every single day on my way to work (I commute on Jericho) I feel like I'm playing a video game on how to avoid death. Between people who don't signal and just stop short, to everyone whose trying to cut me off, drift into my lane, or just smash into my car I can't take it anymore!
It was so much safer when I commuted on the parkway. This story is just so sad. It's something me and my friends have done countless times. These girls are so young and had so much to live for.

I wonder why it said wedding when everywhere else said bachelorette party and they were leaving the place, not going there so where was the groom. Don't think it was the actual wedding and it is just horrible all around

I can't stop thinking about this. It is so sad and so infuriating. These poor girls and their families. The ines that survived must be so F'd up from thisexperience. I pray for strength for all involved. Wish we had more info about the victims
