No snow days built into next years shedule
We just got next years schedule and there are NO snow days built in. Does anyone else have this too? I can't believe this-theyre just going to take off day of the vacations immediately.

My district always has 3 built in, but we NEVER get them back if we don't use any snow days.
It sucks.

Our district NEVER EVER builds snow days in. First snow day comes off of Memorial Day weekend and then they start taking from April break. My district RARELY closes. They will do a delayed opening if at all possible. In 11 years I think we have had maybe 5-6 snow days.

Really? We have 3 built in usually. If we don't use them, we get the day after Easter off and the Friday before Memorial Day. They also throw in another conference day- great bargain!

Wow! This is news to me!!! I still can't believe we had delayed openings 2 (or was it 3?) days this year! We'll never get a full day off...
I'll take the delayed openings any day!

Yes it's the truth. It's the quote in my family. My SIL who is a TA in the district that I live in calls and gloats that she is off because there is 1 flake on the ground and we are not off. We don't even watch the news for the closings because it's really rare that they will close. Think about what surrounds us and you will see why we don't close. Many of the neighboring districts to the west of us are almost the same as us.

We never get snow days built in, if we don't have any, we get 2 days off for Memorial Day weekend. If we have 1 or 2 we lose the 2nd day for Mem. day. more than 2, they take off of Spring Break . . .

We have 5 and get them back if we don't use them. In the end we all basically go in the same amount of days.
