Mental Health Days
Who needs em and how often do you taken em??
I used to take 1-2 a school year but its much harder with my new job.... have yet to take one but am in need of one!!

I'm actually sick too often to take mental health days. In HS and college I took them WAY too often anyway

I think everyone need them once in awhile. I sometimes take them - maybe twice a year or so.

As much as I would love to take one, it's more of a PITA to be out (leaving sub plans and such) and I also want to save up as many days for when I have a child sometime in the next few years.

I agree- I think everyone needs one once in a while. I have yet to take one in this new job (but I have at others). I am trying to save up my time for  but I sure could use one.

with the name going nutty i am going to guess you need them often!

I used to take one week of vacation and save my other 3 weeks for mental health days.

never - im a sucker. I also only missed 2 classes in college and i only cut one class in high school. i dont know why, but i cant bring myself to do it.

If I'm sick its usually because I'm mentally run down to the point that I become sick, so my sick days are kinda both a physical and mental recoup day.

I used to take 1 or 2 a year. I think everyone needs them. I am home with my baby all day and I LOVE him to pieces, but, even though I am home, I still feel at times I need that "Me" time.
And Jennie...You deserve it!

I took one today!!!!!!
I have a 15 page research proposal due by Thurs...needs to be reviewed by Prof. before Tomorrow! So I called in a Personal Day and Im home supposed to be typing my brains out...but of course Im procrastinating.
Ive written only 1 page but I did clean the kitchen, fold the towels, dust, and swept....been on myspace etc etc etc
Lordy help me!

Since I only get 5 sick days a year and I can not carry them over, I usually use 2 mental health days in the spring & summer. I save the other 3 for the fall in case I really do get sick. If not a take a few mental health days in the late fall.

I usually take 1 or 2, but like others have said im trying to save my days for future  & 's. But now talking about taking a day makes me really want to take one! Now that I'm coaching varsity track, I really can't do that

When work was too stressful, I took a few mental health days last year. So far, thank gosh this year, I haven't had to take any. Luckily I get a good amount of vacation, so I haven't had to take too many mental health days.

I usually dont take any. I just go in my boss' office, scream, cry, complain, vent and then he gives me a hug and we call it a day. Then I feel better and tomorrow is a new day.
But I think I may take my birthday off
