Newest blood tests came back today! (UPDATE FRIDAY)
DS's numbers are 'better' as the dr put it, but still not normal. Most of his counts nearly doubled, so we are encouraged!
Where do we go from here? Not really sure. His normal dr wasn't there today, which really resulted in the entire office thinking I am nuts.  Well, I called this morning to see if the results were in. They said yes but that his doctor wasn't in today, so she would call us tomorrow.
As you would assume, that didn't fly with me.  You want me to wait another day?!?!?!?! I told them I didn't care which dr talked to me TODAY, but I wanted the results. (I then explained the situation to the receptionist, so she didn't think I was fully b!tchy.) They said the male dr would call me back.
I waited an hour, then couldn't take it anymore. I went right to the office. (They were going to close for their lunch in about 20 min and I couldn't wait through all that.) I explained myself again and they said the dr would see me. I apologized to the dr for barging in and he said "Please, we are here to help you and your son."
Since he doesn't typically deal with DS, he said the dr would talk to us tomorrow about what to do next. He thinks they will probably want to repeat the bloodwork in a few weeks.
But this is encouraging! Fingers crossed for good stuff from now on! Thank you all for your prayers!
Now I wonder if my son's medical file is marked "crazy mom". I feel like that Seinfeld episode.

UPDATE:
Our excitement has been short lived. DS is seeing the pediatric oncologist on Tuesday.

i'm so glad the results are better!!! maybe go to a specialist to get another opinion while you wait? the waiting must be awful and if they don't get that then f em!

I have a feeling this will be happening anyway. The hematologist/oncologist has been waiting for these results. Our normal dr is the one that has been working with the specialist. So I am assuming we are going there next. Because: Even if his blood tests went up this week (which they did), they are still not good and he is having problems fighting off infections. So something isn't right.

Woohoo! It sounds like he was sick and is getting better and his blood results were just screwey from that!
There is no way that that boy is seriously sick with something like leukemia!

That is such encouraging news!! I am praying that it continues to improve and turns out to be nothing. I think my next step would probably be a pediatric Hematologist - to eliminate as much doubt as possible.

This is encouraging and going in the right direction! The wait is agonizing. Not getting a straight answer is beyond unerving!

I've sat there to get medical records for clients after their doctors didn't respond to my requests. When I eventually got the records, there was no indication about "crazy disability lawyer."
I am glad he is doing a bit better. Maybe you can find out about some safe supplements for him for the time being since he'll be around other kids and you don't want him or anyone else to get sick.

I did see some wicked rotation in the clouds where I was. I wonder if anything dropped on the sound.
