Need recommendations for a pediatrician near Lindenhurst- bad appt. today

Looking for a new doctors office around the Lindenhurst/Babylon/West Islip area. We had a very bad experience with the nursing staff today at our current practice and are seriously considering changing practices. It was also the first time my DD had her shots so their poor treatment of us made it that much more traumatizing.

Also, if you could tell me how long you usually have to wait at your practice as well as if they have evening or weekend hours.

we use suffolk pediatrics in west islip across from good sam. there are 3 doctors there and i like them all. it is dr. woletsky's group.
not too sure about hours.
we never wait that long especially if you go during the day.

We use Dr. Matthew's office on Wellwood in LIndenhurst.

We've been going there little over a year now- since we moved back to LI from NJ.

I really like the staff at Dr. Matthews- she also has another doctor on staff.. Dr. Pantoglou (i'm sure my spelling is really off). Dr. P is the doctor my daughter usually sees.

Now- at first Dr. P can come off a little rough but I have to say, what she did w/ my DD was amazing. DD had unbelievable doctor phobia- every time we went in there she was screaming & crying. Dr. P and the nurse really took their time w/ maddie- letting her warm up to them, play, etc... and after a few months, she is totally OK with them- a really huge accomplishment!

I have no experience w/ this office w/ a newborn- but I will be taking the next DC there (due in December)

Anyway- their number is : (631) 226-4342

edited to say- we usually wait about 15-20 minutes- not bad considering the place we went to in NJ had waits of 45 minutes or more!

Not sure if they have evening hours- as we only go during the day..

I second them-- Dr. Matthews is amazing with DD-- She never even feels the shots! The only downside are the hours and the wait time if you go in the afternoon. Other than that, we are very happy with the office. Every single person who works there is super nice and genuinely loves kids. I looked at your ped's office, and was turned off from the getgo, so I do not blame you for wanting to switch offices. Good luck with your doctor search!

We use them too...We really like the Dr's a lot. We were VERY impressed when my son was in the hospital as well.

I use the Grellos in Babylon on Montauk Hwy. There are 2 brothers & a female dr. (Dr. Fitzpatrick). We've seen all 3; both brothers are very good. DD loves Dr. Steve who's more down to earth & on their level (she's never scared to see him). The brother Ciro is a bit more "business" but very thorough. We've seen Dr. Fitzpatrick too & she's great w/ them. They also answer any q's I have whenever I call & we get in usually w/i 10-15 minutes. Only negative is getting appts.
