So I started crying today...
when I dropped Chelsea off at daycare. I was sobbing so hard the daycare teacher had to hug me and tell me it would be ok. I am still tearing up and it has been almost two hours since I left. 
The funny thing is that she has been in daycare since she was 7 months old. We pulled her for the summer because I am a teacher. I guess I didn't realize how much I would miss her now that the school year has started again. 
PS: She was perfectly fine and went off to play with her friends.

 I'm sorry. I totally understand... DS starts daycare next week and he's a little over 3 months. I'm gonna cry too. It's harder on us then it is on them. The first few days are the hardest and then when you know DC is happy and safe you'll feel better.

Ohhhh  I imagine it's really hard for all the teachers who've been home with their DC all summer - like ripping a scab off of a wound But at least SHE'S fine, you'll need a few days but soon enough you'll be so busy at work the days will fly!!!!

uh oh....now i'm worried! i'm in the same situation as you . and i keep thinking i'll be fine, i'm ready to go back to work, but now i'm thinking i'm gonna bawl like a baby too! i did last night putting her to bed! we'll be okay

This was EXACTLY how I was on Monday. Bella was home with me in August and I was a total mess when I dropped her off. I barely held it together until I got to the car.
Dh and my family were like, what the heck are you going to be like when she starts kindergarten next year...I mean, she has been in daycare since she was a little more than four months. YOu think I would be better at this now.
I guess it just hits us sometimes...

Atl east you held it together until you got in the car! I was a sobbing mess in the classroom. My DH looked at me like I was crazy when I got home all red eyed.
I can't even imagine Kindergarten!

I am so worried about this when I go back to work in a few weeks. I stay up at night rocking DS in the glider crying cause I don't want to leave him to go to work.

I cried when we took DD to her first day of camp. we were only leaving her for 2 hours.  I was a big mess. DH made fun of me.

Im sorry and I totally understand. Leaving Abby today was harder than leaving her after my maternity leave was over. HOWEVER, Abby did very well, was happy as a bug in a rug and was excited to see me when I picked her up. Im very proud that she slept on a cot.
The only issue that I knew would come up was her feeding. I told them it would take time for her to get used to them and that they would need to take their time with her. Not sure if they got it.

You are SO not the only one... Hope tomorrow is a smidge easier. Bella me how GREAT school, her teacher, and her friends are has eased my pain a bit

I dropped DS off at the babysitter yesterday for the first time and I was really upset.....it's great to have the summers off but so hard to leave the kids and go back

I left my 3 month old DD today for the first time and it was so hard--any down time I had I just thought of her and her little smile-I pray it gets easier :(

I hope you are feeling better. Bringing DS back this week was rough on me, too. The thought that the summer is over and we are back in the swing of things kills me. We had fun while it lasted. I'll be counting the days until our first break!
and on a side note... I am not sure if I introduced myself to you last year, but our LOs were in the same class. Is your DD is the toddler class now? My DS started back in the toddler class this week. He LOVES it!
