Need advice about taking care of a newborn when the Mommy is sick!
So I am thinking I picked something up in the hospital because I feel just awful - flu-ish with a bad cough and low fever. Other than constantly washing my hands, avoiding breathing or kissing on my infant, and having DH do as much as possible....any advice on how to keep my baby from getting sick???

This may sound crazy but i think i saw somewhere that if this happens, you should wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth in order to better protect your DC.

I had the flu when DD was 5 months old. DH just started a new job so he couldnt stay home from work.
I tried to confine all of my germs to my couch and bed. I had a shirt that I wore when I was dying on the sick couch & I had a taking care of DD shirt that never came near the couch. I never brought DD near the couch. I washed my hands all the time, esp when I had to pick her up. I picked her up as little as possible and kept her in things most of the day. Swing, bouncy, etc. To feed her, I put her in the car seat, faced her away from me and just held the bottle. I washed my sheets and blankets everyday.
It took a lot of work. I was really, really sick but DD didn't get sick. I was really relieved. The Dr was really surprised and said I did a great job!

When DD was a newborn, I did this when I had a cold.
