My sisters best friend was killed in a car accident yesterday
...She was a 19 year old Cortland student..her 20th birthday was today...my sister is beyond devestated, I have never ever heard her cry like that 
I am posting this because although we are not 100% sure, it is rumored that she was texting and driving...the friend in the car at the time remembers her looking at her phone...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not text and drive. I see too many people on their phones glance away for a second...and this is all it took...
And keep her friends family in your prayers. That has to be the worst call a family can ever get

I know, I cant stand those darn texting phones. All of my students have them, and I just want to throw them out the window.

This is so sad. I dont even answer my phone in the car if I don't have the blue tooth on let alone text people.

I heard that Suffolk County just passed a bill to ban texting and driving.

That's so sad!!
But it's not just the youngsters doing it ... it's people who *have* to conduct business while drivign and emailing on their blackberrys too

I heard this too...It just has to be signed. There will now be a $150 fine for texting while driving. They said on the radio that "texting while driving may be even more dangerous than talking while driving" Uhhh...ya think?!
