My sister: UPDATE
UPDATE: Paisley will be getting bilateral cochlear implants in September!!! She is doing amazingly well and is the happiest little girl. I bought her a doll with cochlear implants, i'm obsessed. Just wanted to update. Thank you all for your kind words in my last post. My sister and hubby are doing well and have been such great advocates for her. I'm in awe of them constantly.
I used to post here quite frequently but not so much anymore.
Some may remember me posting about my sisters IVF struggles. She waited 2.5 years to have a baby. Got pregnant through IVF. They transferred 2 embryos. One split into two and she was suddenly expecting triplets. The twins didn't make it and she lost them around 9 weeks. The singleton, "baby A" survived.
Dec 8 my beautiful niece Paisley Jane was born. I love this little girl as if she were my own. After failing multiple hearing screens, it was determined just a week ago that she indeed is 100% completely deaf.
Our hearts felt broken. Not because my sister and her husband won't help this little girl in any way that they can, but just because it breaks our hearts to think she hasn't heard one sound. Not the sound of her moms voice, or the sound of her daddys singing
(he is a professional musician).
We pray she is a candidate for bilateral cochlear implants. The surgery will be around when she is 10 months old. In the meantime, any prayers you can send our way would be amazing. She is such a sweetheart. My sister has endured such a long road.

What a gorgeous little girl!
I’m sorry to hear she is deaf (there are many beautiful sounds in this world) but the deaf community are one of the strongest, most amazing group of people out there. They do not see themselves as having a disability. Your niece has a lot of awesomeness ahead of her, with or without the implants.

Congrats to your sister.
Prayers for her to receive cochlear implants. DH's aunt and cousin are deaf. Well his aunt is becoming more deaf and losing her hearing, but his cousin was born deaf. He has a few deaf people on his side of the family so when my boys were born taking that hearing test for them is scary.
cochlear implants were a huge change for his cousin's husband. Unbelievable the technology they have today.

Gorgeous munchkin!
I used to work with a guy who's daughter was also born completely deaf. She got the implants when she was probably around 7 or 8 years old I want to say (I think the technology wasn't around when she was a baby) and they worked so well for her.

Thank you so much everyone!! She really is a beautiful and special baby in so many ways. Love her so much. I know her life will be amazing. Just a bit tough right now but they will get through it. Thank god we have amazing family and friends :)
