My Mom and her Stupid Comments
My Mom lives out of state so I've been sending her pics of my belly each week to keep her in the loop and she likes to print them for her albums.
Anyway, for the first 5 months or so, she just kept making comments about my boobs - like "wow you finally have boob!" or "wow you have Dolly Parton boobs!"
Then, when I got bigger, she started commenting of how huge I was - and how huge my Dolly Parton boobs are. (I dont think they look that big but whatever...)
So now, that I'm 36.5 weeks, I sent her another picture today and got back an email in all CAPS saying "OH MY GOD I THOUGHT YOU WERE HUGE BEFORE! I CANT BELIEVE YOU CAN STILL WALK AROUND BEING THAT HUGE!"
OK, I know I'm big - but am I abnormally huge or something? You guys saw my pic I posted yesterday - what do you think? I can't stand her stupid comments.

It must be a mom thing. I went to see my mom last weekend after not seeing her for about a month or so. The first thing she said to me was WOW you got wide! I was like, gee thanks mom. She then proceeded to tell me that I must be having a girl. I asked why do you say that? With her arms held out wide and her cheeks blown up like blow fish, she says because you look like this. What is wrong with people? I am only 26 weeks, what is she going to say in 10 weeks???????? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Do not even let it get to you. People say such stupid things...you are supposed to grow big..and it is all worth it. You look fabulous....
 enjoy every moment of it.
ETA: My dad saw me yesterday and said to my sister wow she got big I hope she's not having twins...

Oh yeah and she said "ARE YOU SURE YOU"RE NOT HAVING so-and-sos TWINS??" (My friend is having twins...so she's asking if Im sure Im not really the one having twins.

It's definitely a mom thing because my mom sometimes says to me how fat I got. She doesn't say "huge or big", she says FAT. It annoys the crap out of me.
Oh and I forgot to mention, you do look great.

Mom's can be so dense. I was snacking the other day and my mom was like "do you eat like that all day long?!" UM, I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I've gained 1-2 pounds. I think I'm doing just fine, thank you very much.

My mom told me the other day that she had news for me - since I'm over 30 that I wont loose all the baby weight. #1 - I AM 30, not over
#2 - WATCH ME, MOM! (that was my response to her)
Granted, she followed it up by saying "you were too skinny to begin with anyway" but that comment was NOT what I wanted to hear and certainly not from my own mother. I think they think they can say anything and get away with it because they're the mom. Hmph!

My mom always comments about my small boobs compared to her. But she is much heavier than I am.
I would picture her saying the same things as your mom-no filter.
You're not huge!

Thanks girls!
I think I'm going to take a big old bare belly shot and email her that picture - since the last bare belly shot I sent her grossed her out completely. Maybe I'll have one printed in poster size and mail it to her.

Moms can be strange sometimes. I love my mother to pieces, but sometimes she says things before she thinks - and I know she doesn't mean for them to hurt me.

I didn't see your pg photo, but if everyone else says you look good, well you probably do.
The comments from our mothers, well, I get those comments as well. Yesterday I called my mom and while talking she says "how's the adoption business going"?? (we are adopting)...if she could only have seen my face fall. gee thanks mom, that what it is to you? god forbid she said something sweet or nice while inquiring about her new grandchild.
