my Middy ran away-UPDATE 7/1 definitly not my dog!!!!!!
 My bil dog who was staying with friends until I could pick her up today ran away. Apparently they let her out at 9 last night and she never came back. They didnt think to call me until today at 5. I am extrememly heart-broken and when my BIL finds out I dont know what he will do. That dog has been through it all with him and she is all he has. I dont know what to do. I checked all the shelters, animal hospitals and highway patrol and nothing. She doesnt know the area where she was lost in (shirly) and I dont know where she would go.
update!
Ok, so my mom went to the shelter for me and although Midnite was NOT there they did find a post on the found dogs list! It is for the same description as my middy, all black found in the shirly area 6/24. I called and left a message for the woman to call back but so far she hasn't. I guess she is at work. So I am asking again for you to pray for me that it is here and that there is at least some kind of happy ending to my crappy situation!!! I will keep you all updated when I receive the call back!!!

  Please call again!!! I am so sorry! Keep calling. Annoy the shelters! Have the friends drive around. Someone has to have her! I hope that you come back with good news soon!

Was she wearing a vaccination tag from a vet ? Even if is very old....someone might have called that Vet, and that Vet could trace her back to the 'owner'. My dog had run away and that's how we found him, another time he ran away and the person brought him to the main Animal Shelter in Nassau County. I pray they find the dog...I know the pain you must feel.....

im still searching for her i dont know what else to do. im making posters for her now to put up. i put an ad in the paper for her as well. That should go in on the 28th. The people she was staying with aren't even looking for her and they are the ones that lost her, they didnt even tell me she was missing until sat. What kind of people do that!!! IM so angry and terrified I will never see her again.
Ive checked all the shelters and every vet and highway county patrol and state as well. I'm at a loss, we dont live where she was lost so its hard to know where she may have went. I miss her so much and I just want her back This will be with me for the rest of my life if i dont find her, wondering what could have happened to her.

Keep doing what you are doing. Also, put on ad on petfinders.com. Also, search the found section of it!!
If you are offering a reward, never specify how much you are giving. people are greedy/
JUst state Big reward when found.

I am SO sorry.
Please don't give up, and I am appauled that the people who lost her aren't doing anything about it, SHAME ON THEM!!!
What area was she lost?
Give us a description and we can all keep a lookout for her.

Thank you everyone! I still have not found her yet. I put fliers up everywhere and put them in peoples mailboxes. Her name is Midnite, She is an all black purebread German Shepard. She is approx 70-80lbs. I dont know for certain if her collor is on but if it is it is red. She was lost Friday night (6/24) at 9.pm in the shirly/ mastic/smiths point area. She was staying on Cranberry street over there. I will also post this on Nwr as someone else suggested! Thanks for the support everyone!

Jenn, I am SO sorry to hear about this!!!! That's infuriating that you have to do all of this on your own, and the people who lost her aren't even offering to help find the dog THEY were watching!! I pray that Midnite finds her way home, hopefully with all of your hard work and the LIF network working for you, she will be found soon! I wish I lived in that area so I could help too - my prayers are with you that some kind soul finds her and returns her to her rightful owner. please keep us posted!

Thanks, Helena! I called the shelter again and they told me a jet black shepard came in on sun. I left work to go there and the dog wasnt even BLACK!! it was brown! and not even a shepard. I was so angry I got my hopes up just have them crash down on me. I am praying that someone has her and will see the signs and return her to me.

oh, I just thought of something else (if you haven't already done this) It might be of some help to post the reward signs with pics of her at all the local supermarkets in that area- talk to the managers too if you can. You never know who might have seen her and hitting the supermarkets broadens your search since so many people are in and out of there in a day

Yeah shes hangin in the Pathmark. King Kullen, Dollar Tree and Home Depot lol and every Stop sign I see! Someone has to have her, you think she owuld have surfaced dead or alive by this time

I hope you find your Middie....my sister's dog's name is Midnight and he is a black flat-coated retriever. I know, it's irrelevant but...
I know how I would feel if Ebony took off, I am hoping and praying that Midnight returns to you, safe and sound!!

My BIL is sick right now, He is in a clinic getting better but will not be out until October. We are not allowed to see him at this point but I think he found out, I dont know how though. I got a message that he wants me to call him but even if i call they wont let me speak to him yet either. So I have no idea how he will react.
