My kitty Boo is very sick -UPDATED-Boo is Gone.
I'm so upset.
He's only 7 years old.
Boo & his brother Willow live with my Mom since we kind of "co-owned" them.
Boo's been battling diabetes for about 9 months now, and he's been doing ok, but the past few days he hasn't been eating, and when he DID eat on Thursday night (he ate a LOT), he threw everything up.
She took him to the Vet last night, they ran some tests, and now we're just waiting.
She sais he slept on the kitchen floor all night by his water dish, he's completely lethargic, I am so scared.

Update:
He went to the Vet is he is ketonic (sp?) (due to the diabetes).
He is now at the 24 hour Animal Hospital in Plainview, they have to keep him for 4-5 days to try & get him well again. They will do a sono to see if any of his other organs are affected (and infected), and if so, antibiotics should clear that up.
I'm happy that he will have 24 hour care & observation, I just hope they are able to figure out why his body is not accepting the insulin he is being given.
So as of right now, my Mom says the only "bad news" is the Vet bill will be around $3000. I'll take that news, as long as little Boo gets better, he's just too young to check out.

UPDATE:
Boo is in Critical condition.
His liver is inflammed.
They're doing all they can, but it doesn't look good.
Please pray for him.

He's still in Critical condition.
I got to see him yesterday.
First off the Veterinary Hospital in Plainview is a great place. It is so clean, the staff is incredibly nice, & the Dr's are so patient and caring.
He brought us into a room with all sick animals (mostly recovering from surgery I think).
Boo is in a decent size cage, with blankets and a towel under his head to elevate it. They have warming lamps on him to keep his temp. up. He was toasty when I felt him.
His belly is shaved b/c of the USound, he has IV's in his legs, but he isn't in any pain & looks comfortable, just totally lethargic though :(
When we got to his cage, he opened his eyes & lifted his head a bit.
I rubbed his cheeks & neck, he seemed to like it, but mostly kept his eyes closed.
He definetly knew we were there :)
His condition is still critical, the anitbiotics for the liver have started working, but won't take effect for 3-4 days probably. As the Dr says, he definetly isn't out of the woods yet :(
They are now giving meds b/c his body temp. dropped a bit last night.
I just pray he makes it, he was my baby before I got Rudy

I am praying for Boo. Hopefully this medicine will kick in sooner than they say it will.

Andrea - how is Boo today?
My Mom got a phone call from the hospital at 4:00 this morning, they said he won't make it till the morning.
So my Mom went to the hospital @ 4:30 am & Boo's eyes were glazed & he was foaming at the mouth. She decided to hold him & let the Dr give him "the shot". He passed away calmly. I'm so upset, he didn't even live half his life- only 7 years old.
His brother Willow (they're real brothers, from the same litter) is beginning to lick himself too much, it's a sign of stress in cats, it's a way to comfort himself. They used to cuddle each other every day & night, and have never been apart, I hope Willow gets through this.
