My heart is breaking
Yesterday was Lucas' first day at daycare and it was aweful...for all of us. I cried my eyes out and DH eventually lost it as well. When we handed Lucas over he started wailing and could not be comforted. The ended up putting him in the swing and when I went to check on him he was just staring out the glass door swinging away...so sad.  When we went to pick him up he was being rocked and was falling asleep so that was good. But...according to his chart he ate very little and slept very little. When we got home we played for a while and soon he started smiling again but he was so tired.
This morning he woke up all smiles but same thing happened again at daycare. I took him for a little while and he calmed down but as soon as I handed him over he was screaming again. When we left he was heading back to the swing.
I'm hoping that this is just an adjustment period. It's killing us to see him like that.

It so hard to leave your baby in the beginning. I hope it gets better soon.

Awwwwwww... I'm so sorry. Believe me it is just an adjustment period. He will get used to it and will have a ton of fun making friends, playing and learning.
I cried my eyes out the first week, but as other mommies will tell you it does get better!

This is the hard adjustment period. It DOES get easier and soon he will realize how much fun he can have playing with all of the kids and toys. Hang in there- this is a hard time.

My eyes got all watery reading this. I'm so sorry. Hopefully he gets used to it quickly. The faces are so new to him right now that maybe he just needs time getting used to new people.

Poor baby. It does get easier I promise. Eventually he will realize you will come back and the ladies will take great care of him. So lots of and stay positive.

oh, I am so sorry, how old is he? Does he have to go into the swing right away?
I am still going through this DD is in daycare 3x a week, but starting in 2 weeks...40 hours a week and that hurts me.
I know she is having fun though and your son will too.

He's 3 months. I would prefer that he not go into the swing at all (we don't put him in too often at home) but it seems to be the only way he will calm down.
DH just called to check on Lucas...he is with the woman who was rocking him yesterday and seems to be doing okay. DH said he actually heard him cooing so that is a great sign. They said he is doing better today.
Is it possible for him to already have a preference for one person over another. If so, it seems like he's not too fond of the AM person.

I am sure it is possible he doesn't like someone - maybe one lady reminds him of you? I am not sure. I am sorry you have to go through this. Is the place local? Maybe you can stop in on your lunch break ?

Oh I feel so badly for you all.. that must have been so hard for you and your DH...
I am sure that Lucas will adjust soon and you will all get used to this arrangement though.. it'll just take some time..
