My Grandfather passed away...
on Monday night. I was very close to him and have been taking care of him for the last five months since he's gotten very sick. The first day of the wake was today and everyone keeps telling me to keep my emotions under control for the sake of the baby. I know that I can't get myself overworked but I need to grieve too. It makes me even more sad that my grandfather won't get to hold my baby, I was so hoping he would have been able to hold on until July. I'm keeping myself hydrated and trying to sleep but I can't turn my emotions off. Anyone have any advice?
I put the sonogram picture in his casket because he was so happy when we told him I was pregnant. I know he will watch over me and my little one but I can't help to feel so robbed of precious time.

ANd definatley let your emotions out..
better to let them out then keep them all bottled up..

I'm so sorry for you loss. Your grandfather will always be with you even if it isn't in body and the things you learned with him are the things you will share with your children.

I am so sorry. You do need to greave- its so healthy. Just try to focus on how lucky you were to have such a wonderful man in your life for so long. I know its hard to look at it that way, and of course you will miss him. BUt there are people out there who never knew their grandparents or were never close to them. You are truly blessed- even if it doesnt' feel like that right now.
Now your little one will have their own guardian angel looking out for him or her.

I am So sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother in November and it is so hard I felt the same because I am her only grandchild that she did not get to see have a baby and she came so close. I was a mess I could not hold myself together at her wake and funeral..it is too hard..hang in there and know he is watching over you and your baby always.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As far as your emotions go, it is good to let it all out. Take it from someone who bottles everything up, it is better for the baby if you have that release. Hang in there! Your Grandfather is your new guardian angel !

I'm sorry for your loss. I know how it feels. I don't have my parents or grandparents around anymore, and I am really feeling the void now that I'm expecting my first baby. I think it is healthy for you to grieve and to cry for your grandfather. Crying due to the loss of loved one is a natural emotion, and it isn't the same as going through stress in your life. I think it would be worse for you to have to work at "controlling your emotions". You should feel what you feel, and know that your baby will be fine.

I am sooo sorry- definately do NOT keep your feelings in- that would be way worse for your baby. I hope you find some peace soon-
