My friend had to put her dog to sleep

My friends dog was I think 17 years old. She has been sick and her mom and dad have been having a hard time making the decission. But this weekend the poor thing had two seizers. (Sorry I dont know how to spell) My question is I want to get her a little something but I dont know what.

I had to put my 10 y/o dog asleep just over two years ago and my other dog just under 2 months ago. The best gift were cards. Just the thought that someone took the time to buy and write out a card made me believe that they understood how hurt I was feeling and that they weren't 'just dogs'.
I did buy a lot of things for myself to memorialize them. One that might be a good small gift is a keychain locket. I love mine and can look at them whenever I need to.

I agree about the cards.

I got one from my vet and another from the crematory and even though they were obligatory it still was nice and made me feel like someone understood how heartbroken I was. (still)

Thank you. I just feel so bad for her. I cant imagine going through it. Listening to her for months about the guilt of putting Sophie to sleep makes me dreed the day something happens to my Cloe. I love Cloe like my child.

I just made a memorial donation to a pet shelter in the name of a friend's dog that had to be put to sleep recently. I know they liked that the money was going to help other animals. They even sent a card to the doggy parents stating that we made a donation in the pet's name.

Thank you. That is a great idea. I know she adopted her from Little Shelter. I just called to see if I can make a donation in Sophie's name.
