I know it is really hard, but 2 months is still so little. Can DH relieve you a little bit?

My DS didn't STTN (or really sleep more than 4hrs at a clip) until he was one. So I definitely feel for youChat Icon Chat Icon

DD was EBF and was the same way. It took until about 3 months before I got 4 hours - 6 hours.

Chat Icon it is so hard #1 never slept.
we are actually moving #2 into her own room tonight because #1 is such a disturbance...still at 3 years old.

they don't usually sleep longer than that. sorry...it's going to take a while longer, no matter how much you feed! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm so sorry. It's very hard when they don't sleep Chat Icon I think DS started going giving me a 4 hour stretch at night around 8 or 9 weeks. Hopefully it will happen soon for you! Chat Icon

My DD Eliza woke every 2-3 hours until she was just over 5 months old.Chat Icon She was EBF also.

Try to remember, it's such a short time in the grand scheme of things and WILL eventually get better.

don't shoot me for the suggestion, but i have two friends this worked for... what about tummy sleeping? i suggest this because it worked for them immediately... AND STTN at 2ms is possible because my 2mth old has been doing it for 5wks.

that is completely normal! MY DS did this til 6 months (my DD was 3 months) Formula or BM it doesnt matter! If you BF I would just stick with that! this way you don't ruin your supply IMO

This is completely normal for a 2 months old baby-you can't expect a baby so small to sleep through the night, or for much longer stretches at a time! Once he reaches 3 months, things will most likely improve.

Totally normal and it may go on for quite some time - depends on the child so you might want to consider having your husband do one of the night feedings if you are finding it too hard. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: My EBF 2 month old will NOT sleep more than 3 hours at night

My six month old, EBF son is still waking every 2-3 hours to eat. I don't pump, so it's all me. We now cosleep so that I can get some rest. Most nights I don't even know he's eating. All children will eventually sleep through the night, when they are developmentally ready. Some babies do it earlier and some much later and there is little you can do to control their instinctual needs. Waking is also a built in mechanism for survival...I wouldn't mess with the natural unfolding of things. Hang in there....you do get used to it over time.

As PP's said, it's completely normal. Chat Icon If DS gave me 1 longer stretch at night (4 hours), he'd wake up every 1-2 hours after that. He didn't STTN until 7 months. Up until 6 months, he was typically waking 2-3 times per night.

Re: My EBF 2 month old will NOT sleep more than 3 hours at night

I'm a bad mommy and I let my DS sleep on his tummy Chat Icon
He's had excellent neck control since about 2 weeks old, so I first tried tummy sleeping at 8 weeks old during naps so I could check on him. He was able to move his head side to side no problem so we tried it during the night. He went from waking up every 2 hours to sleeping for 5-6 hours straight! Of course, I was still up for the first few nights every hour or two to check on him lol.
Now at 11 weeks old, he sleeps 7 hours straight.

We're in the same boat!

I do pump though, but we don't bottle-feed unless I'm at work.

As much as I want the baby to STTN, we're not rushing it. He's barely 6 months old and he definitely is starting to sleep longer (waking up 2-3x night).
