My doctor said I gained to much weight...how much weight did you gain by...
16 weeks? I will be 17 weeks on Friday. I gained 7 lbs since I found out. I was a little upset...bc I really thouight I was eating good.

my doctor NEVER mentioned my weight gain, even when I asked her about it, she said "you are doing fine, don't worry"
I gained 50 lbs in total

I am very self consious of my weight...and at times I thought I was eating to much...but I really made healthy choice. (Dont get me wrong, I did eat some treats on special occasitons...but I did not over do it. I am nervous now. He was lecturing me on things not to eat...and I wanted to say...i dont eat that..but I knew I would start to cry.
I am going to keep a log of everything I eat.

7lbs are 17 weeks does not seem like a lot to me at all .........
Everyone is different - Did he say WHY he's concerned? Or just the obnoxious 'you gained too much'

I gained 8lbs by 17wks. Today I am 33wks and I gained about 28lbs. I think you are doing just fine. I'm confused my your doctor would say that

I am not the skinniest person...but Im not over over weight...mabye he is concerned I might gain to much? I have not been exersizing like I was bc I have been so tired...so I am going start my daily walks again..i just have to do it as soon as I get home...bc if I sit...I am done!!!

since i was considered obese ,which alot of people including myself dont consider me to be even close to that, anyway I was only suppose to gain 15 total pregnancy that was funny when they told me that !!
#1 I gained a total of 60 lbs
#2 55 lbs
#3 about 55

I have gained at least that much and I am 15 weeks. My doctor hasn't mentioned anything about weight.

That doesn't sound like that much at all.
I think it they also take into account your starting point. Not that this is a concern with you, but I know that with my first pregnancy my starting weight was kind of low so I could "afford" to gain more. I have still not lost all of that weight so with number two I really shouldn't gain as much.

Everyone gains differently at different times, and your body type can also affect how you should gain.
I did not gain yet at 16 w, but I had horrible m/s and food aversions. I also am 40 lbs overweight pre-preg. I also gain all my weight at the end of the PG. Total weight gained at the end of my last PG: 55 lbs.
Definitely keep an open communication with your Dr about it.

that does not sound like too much AT ALL. At my 16 week appointment i was up 11. and i'm sure when i go next week for my 20 week one i will be up at least another 2 pounds.

Marisa- that is not that much...and Im sure at one point you may not gain any...so it evens out a bit and towards the end, well the pds can add back up.
Dont let him worry you like that.
A friend of mine gained 75 pds, and her doc said NADA.....she got it all off
and had a normal size baby.

7lbs doesn't sound like alot to me for 16weeks. You will gain varying amounts of weight throughout the course of the pregnancy - and you might even lose weight at some points so i've heard (haven't experienced that for myself yet) so try not to get down on yourself. If you know you are being healthy then that's what matters. Trust me, i almost  when they told me i gained 7 lbs in 4 weeks at my 22week appointment.
See what your doc says at your next appointment and if he still has concerns then ask him why he thinks you are gaining too much and what his target weight gain for you is.

That doesn't sound like much at all. I think it depends on how much you weighed originally.
I am almost 18 weeks and am negative five pounds. My doctor doesn't seem too concerned but they will be if I don't start gaining soon.

I gained 59lbs and kept asking the MD - "are you SURE this is OK?". She was never concerned.
