My BFP was short lived
I woke up on Sunday with awful cramps which were quickly followed by heavy bleeding.
I took another test which confirmed that I am no longer pregnant. So it's back to OPKs for me.

i know how that feels and i am soo sorry you had to go thru that!!
its an awful feeling!! just went thru it last month and still think about it all the time.
but apparently this sort of thing happends all the time, that is why i am no longer testing early! im waiting a few days after AF is due to test.

Thank you all so much for the kind words. I agree I don't plan to test early anymore.
The truth is don't like to test early. I only tested early because it was DH's birthday, and I thought it would be nice to get a BFP on his birthday and let him know.
As for the other questions. I went to the doctor as a precaution. Everything is fine, and DH and I can start trying again right away.
So I look forward to another BFP in the near future.
