Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

Darlings & Divas is looking to add some new products to its party offering and we'd like your opinion.

Those who post their opinions on this thread will be entered to win a free pettiskirt and hair accessory for their little Diva!

*****

Just Cake- We were thinking about offering a "Just Cake" party. This one-hour party would feature a dance party, games, and cake with juice or milk and coffee/tea for parents. Cost would be $175.00 for 20 guests and would be offered Saturday and Sunday nights 6-7pm and weekdays 5pm and later. Thoughts on this?

***

Parents Date Night- For children aged 5 and up we'd offer Friday night date nights from 6 pm to 9.30. This would be a drop off service. We would feed the children dinner, do a craft, have a dance party, contests and show a movie. What price would be reasonable for this service? Would you take advantage of it?

we would offer real-time monitoring where you could see your children on your iPhone, Blackberry or Android phone.

***

Tween parties-
We're looking @ offering parties for the Tweens- girls aged 9 and up.. we have a few different ideas but are looking for more! If you have a tween or know a tween- what type of parties/pop culture icons are they interested in?

***

We're open to your feedback- is there anything we aren't offering that we should be offering? (besides boy parties- we aren't going to paint, yet :)

Again, anyone who replies will be automatically entered to win a free pettiskirt and hair accessories- a $50.00 value!

If you want to see our current party themes and offerings, our website is:

Re: Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

Toddler Time: When AJ was younger she was get squished and pushed aside by them pesky toddlers. Now she's a toddler herself 2yrs old and I love things that encourage her to explore and move. tunnels, climbing, balls, boucing etc. I would love (like Gymboree) time where she can safely play indoors for a certain time. Like a park for toddlers, indoors. Without worrying if the 7yr is going to knock her down or if she's going to accidently step on a crawler.

Make sense?

ETA: Dance party! haha just music and different dances. There is just NOT enough times AJ can do the hokey pokey and hot dog dance (mickey) she LOVES dancing. Be neat to have a puedo dance thing. Disco ball, party favors etc. even dance tickets! ha Chat Icon

ETA2: tea party with alice wonderland theme is cool but I'd like to Add the Disney Princess theme too. AJ loves them. She has the Belle Tea set and Tinker set too. They make them for all the princesses (and tinker who's not a princess technically) and they are pretty affordable. Its the Girl Version of Mickey Party.

But I do like the Clubhouse Party theme too. Went to a 2yr old party with it. Clubhouse stickers for the members *wink* favors, did the opening and exiting songs and even a mini episode with a Tootles. Kinda cool.

Love the idea about parents date night. I would be interested when my DD gets older. Not sure what a good price would be for this though.

Re: Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

can you be more specific about the dance party and games for the Just Cake party...is it moderated/guided by an adult? how tempting would it be for the kids to want to play with the dress up and stuff, but not be able to b/c it isn't part of the package?

the drop off doesn't sound like a bad idea. gymboree does this sometimes. i don't recall what they charge. the real time monitoring would be a big draw! i don't think i'd use the service though only b/c we have so many willing relatives as babysitters.

i think you should offer a modified version of the t-shirt, pajama, and jewelry parties for little girls.

the dance party would be lead by a party hostess.. she would lead them in organized dances befitting of their age: hokey pokey, freeze dance, hula hoop contest, cha cha slide, hoedown throwdown (hannah montana), etc.

The dress up area would be "closed off" with curtains and ribbons.. so as not to "tempt" them.

I love the just cake idea, but think 1.5 hours would be better than 1 hour for stragglers that might come a bit late.

Date Night sounds awesome too. The monitoring really sets it apart!!

Re: Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

I love the date night option, although $70 for 2 kids would be a bit steep for me.

If it was even just a snack, a movie & in their PJ's for a cheaper $ that would be great.

How about once the girls are dressed up, there's a fashion show down a runway & you announce, "Princess Ava" wearing xyz... & then take pictures which are then up on a slide screen immediately.

Ice cream sundae decorating

Kareoke party for the tweens

Face painting

A tea party w/ your favorite doll (sorta American Girl style)

I think the "Just Cake" party sounds like a nice cost-effective option. Just make it 100% clear exactly what is included.

I LOVE the parents' night out, especially the live monitoring. I'm thinking $35 per child, maybe a break for each additional child in the family.

Not sure about the tweens but as I saw mentioned, a spa party sounds like it would be up their alley.

In line with the "Just Cake" party option - a cupcake option would be nice where the kids got to choose from a chocolate or vanilla cupcake and then got to decorate it.

Love the decorate-you-own idea. I'd also like to let her make her own pizze somewhere outside of my house Chat Icon

I would love to have a Baby Loves Disco nearby!!

What about a movie night? They come in their PJs wit their sleeping bags, and watch a movie and munch popcorn?

Re: Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

I love the Parent's Date Night thing! Especially the idea that you can monitor it from your phone. Most parents pay $10 an hour for babysitting, so if it was a 5-9 type of thing, I would say 30-40 would be ok! I think you would get that.

What about a dolly-and-me tea party type thing? I was just talking to some moms at my DD's preschool about this. If you did this and it was well-publicized, you would bring in a TON of business. My church used to do one on Valentines Day every year (like a brunch/tea thing for little girls, parents, and dolls) and it was one of their biggest fundraisers.

HTH!!!

Re: Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

I own a Birthday Party business similiar to yours. I can tell you that in my experience, the one hour party will probably not fly. It will probably have to be 1.5 hrs at least.
Also, the drop off thing sounds great. Maybe you could make it a Pajama Party type thing and have kids decorate a pillow case, or sleep mask. They can bring their own pillow(or pillow pet) for movie time etc.
The tween night also is a great idea. I have a 10 year old. She is obsessed with Justin Bieber. She also loves Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Selena Gomez etc. They too would love a tween drop off night, dance party type thing. You could have a lounge area with tween magazines, maybe Wii set up with dance type games or Karaoke. I am not sure if you have licensed hairdressers, but we offer colored hair extensions and the tweens love it!
We are not in direct competition, so feel free to pick my brain and I can share any info I can, businesswomen to businesswomenChat Icon

I like the "cake party" It gives more options, but I do think it should be longer too.

The drop off would be fun. I would say $20-$25. If you wanted to go higher it is always helpful to give a discount to the second siblingChat Icon

Good Luck! I was there and loved it. Do you have an American Girl themed party or a Pinkalicious theme?

the cake party sounds good, but I agree that it should be longer. I also think having the kids decorate something with it would be fun (a cupcake or cookie).

The date night sounds great, and I love the real time monitoring. The only downside I could see would be if people have more than one child, its probably a lot more than they would pay a babysitter.

I personally would like to see the "Just Cake" option be a tad longer, with maybe a cupcake decorating station Chat Icon

Love the idea of Parents Date Night...Maybe $10 per hour ?

Tween parties-

American Idol Parties

Red Carpet Fashion Show

Top Chef Cooking Theme (if you have the set up for that)

Tye-Dye 70's theme party ( t-shirt decorating)

Re: Mom's- give us your opinion on our new product ideas and get a free gift!

I really like the idea of the Date Night. But as somebody else suggested, $35 per child if there is more than one might be more than a couple could add to their budget to go out.

For the tweens, I love the spa party idea, the karaoke idea, and the red carpet idea.

Along the lines of the Date Night, I don't know if this would be an option, but to have some kind of drop off service for moms some day during the week would be a big help. I know I'd love to be able to go get my hair or nails done without having to cart my girls with me. If I knew you had a service like this on lets say Tuesdays from 2-4, that's when I'd schedule my appointments. I'd love knowing that my girls were having fun while I was getting stuff taken care of as well. I'd certainly pay $10 an hour for this service!

Cake party is nice but I agree with others that it would have to be at least 1.5 hrs.
Also, I would make the age group on the parents date nite 4 vs 5. Opens it up to more people and at 4 they are already potty trained.
A princess dayor pirates nite theme is also nice. Dress up etc...
