milk allergy vs lactose intolerance...how can you tell?

so I tried Yo Soy yogurt with traces of milk....and he still got some gas (not even a full serving!) and his diaper was messy.

how can one tell a milk protein allergy or lactose intolerance (which DH is).

And where do you go at the 1 yr mark instead of whole milk???

Ask your ped about coconut milk. It is used all over the south pacific and maybe he will tolerate that better?

My ds and my nephew have a milk allergy. My ds gets a rash on his face and very loose stools. My nephew gets bloody stools, rash and gets very irritable. My nephew drinks soy milk whereas my son won't, but will have rice / almond milk every once in awhile. I also give him oj with calicum.
