This is so sad... I'm in tears reading this. I am 6 months pregnant and due to deliver at that hospital so I probably should not have read that. My thoughts and prayers go out to that family!

Wow, I'm sitting here crying at my desk. So sad. It's a reminder that even though a C-section is considered routine, it's still major surgery and may have complications.

I would hope it doesn't worry women facing a c-section though-- I personally know two women who ended up in intensive care (they did survive) due to uncontrollable internal bleeding after vaginal births. One was a 1st time mom and one was having a vbac. I think this problem can occur following a birth no matter what kind of birth it was.

So heartbreaking, and so scary to read while pregnant.
I agree. At almost 5mths pregnant this has really terrified me....but wow, what a sad story.

Yes, I was just going to say- my friend who's wife died in child birth- it was NOT a C Section.
There are risks in all kinds of births.
And though it is rare, it does happen.
And it's a horrnedous thing no matter what.

My DH also told me of a coworker whose wife died during childbirth. I dont know the details but was shocked. So scary and so so so tragic. That poor poor woman, to never see her children that she carried for 9 mths. Gets me sick to my stomach.

This SCARES THE CR@P OUT OF ME!!!!! I was SOOOOO nervous when I had my C-section for this reason and I'm still terrified for future deliveries. It's my absolute WORST nightmare!!!
