Magical Migraine Cures?
I've had a debilitaitng migraine on and off for days.
I slept with an ice pack on my head the other night, and I'm out of imitrex..any other ideas?

A friend of mine swears by Excederine Migraine. He thinks its better than Imitrex.

DH has never been diagnosed with migraines (although he swears that's what they are) and the only thing that works for him is Alleve.

I usually try a bunch of different things:
Heating pad behind my neck
Caffeine
Aleve
Hot Shower
Neck and scalp massage

This may sound weird but...
you know that spot over your upper lip, i call it the nose drain, if you pinch it medium hard it will take some/all pain away.
Try it out!!!

For some reason it works well for me....and I was on Zomig for my migraines and it didn't work half as good.
I couple the Excedrin with a nap in a dark room and I'm golden.

it actually does feel better for a few seconds...but maybe it's just cause my lip hurts more? LOL
I'm in that in betweens tage where I feel it coming on, and I'm trying to keep myself as distracted as posisble, but my clicks on the keyboard are getting louder and LOUDER...I hear the clock ticking now

I have tried everything under the sun for migraines.
The only thing that helps me is the preventative drug Topamax. I just went back on it this week after being off it almost a year (pregnancy).
Excedrin Migraine takes a bit of the edge off for me, but I still have a terrible migraine with it. Imitrex does nothing but give me the shakes and I still have the migraine. I hope you find something that works for you!

I* have tried at least 5 prescription meds and excedrin migraine is the only thing that helps!

It's stuff you roll on and available at Walgreens, Walmart. My MIL bought it in desperation when she was hear and now swears by it.

I had a migraine for three days... It's really weird though..sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...usually I take that and try to sleep it off...
ETA: I am referring to Exced. Migraine above..

LOVE this stuff! I have one in my purse, one in my desk at work and one by the bed at home...I'm addicted!!!
Also, if you're looking for prescription Zomig ZMT the nasal spray works well.
The under the tongue pills are funky...they give me strange side effects....

my mom too. I take imitrex as well. None of the otc stuff works on a true migraine for me. Sometimes I put one of those bengay pads on my neck/shoulder.
