Lovenox Ladies

Okay, I've been icing before and after shots, I pinch my skin, and put the injection straight in. I'm still bruising though, sometimes it's a little dot where the injection was, sometimes it's as big as a one inch radius to the shot. I don't know what I'm doing wrong??? My stomach is getting pretty beaten up, it's not uncomfortable to have my clothing touch it and forget about the seatbelt. Any suggestions?

TIA,
Kelly

Re: Lovenox Ladies

ive been on lovenox for about 12 weeks - it was fine but now that there's not much to grab on my belly im starting to bruise and it's starting to sting -- my best advice is stay as far away from your belly button as possible. pinch around and wherever it hurts the least inject there. ive found a couple of spots that DONT hurt and have a habit of injecting only there (and FH yells at me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon )

Re: Lovenox Ladies

I find if I stay in the love handle area and ice for about 2 minutes before and pinch - this is easier when I'm sitting- it doesn't hurt or bruise as much.. also, originally my RE told me to inject only UNDER the belly button but then my perinatologist told me I can go up past the belly button and stick in the love handles- this has really helped.

also- don't push the plunger in fast- push it in very slow.

Re: Lovenox Ladies

I was on lovenox from my 10th week to my 35th week of preg. I bruised the whole time. I never iced my stomach. Some weeks I would have no bruises and other weeks it was horrible. I don't think there is much you can do. Good luck!!

Re: Lovenox Ladies

Thanks for the advise. It's a small price to pay, but it's going to be a long 7 months.
