Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't..you willl find the areas on you that hurt the least. Pinch the skin pretty hard and shoot quickly. Its no big deal

Re: Lovenox ladies

the sides hurt less than the middle.. close to the belly button the more it hurts...

I squeeze skin and put needle in, but I push the lovenox in rather slowly as sometimes it burns if I go to fast.

Re: Lovenox ladies

you're welcome.
you'll be OK- really- the first few are annoying but then after a while you get super used to it.

Re: Lovenox ladies

Also ask if you can inject in your thighs. I did when I was PG because I thought I'd be able to take nice belly pics-that ended when I got stretch marks starting at 14 weeksChat Icon

wait you can still inject in your belly when you're pregnant?
I can't wrap my brain around that one yetChat Icon
I guess I just assumed it would move to the thigh once pregnant with a belly

Re: Lovenox ladies

I started in my thighs but had a freak (and I mean freak the doctor had never seen anything like it) occurrence of nerve issues in my leg from it. I switched to tummy/love handles. I Ice before and after. For me I find it burns less and leaves less of a bruise. As pp said pinch hard and hold the pinch until after you remover the needle. Don't rub the injection site. That's all I have good luck and it is not bad at all Chat Icon

my advice is don't rub the site after! That is when I always bruised. I give the shot to myself 2x a day for the past 15 weeks and I hardly bruise if I leave it alone!

It's not too bad, good luck!
