Lipa vent

I just got my lipa bill for this month and am freaking out. $480.00. I've never even paid anywhere near this much in the summer with air conditioning running all day long. Has anyone else gotten a ridiculous bill this month? It really sucks because you have no choice but to have them.

Re: Lipa vent

i have gotten bills double that, about 1000 for a month.
We have a big house and it was in the summer, and we have 4 central air units
Its sucks cause they charge what they want and there is no other choice for us

Re: Lipa vent

Are you on a budget? You can call Lipa and Keyspan and get on a budget which averages your bills/usage and you pay the same thing every month.

Re: Lipa vent

We are not on a budget right now. I am waiting for a call back from an analyst to try and help us lower the bills.

Re: Lipa vent

That's alot for the winter.

That's almost as much as my bill was. But I have a 500gallon hot tub in my back yard running (and heating) almost non-stop these cold days which I know takes up a good portion of that bill.

You need to find out why the bill was that high. Going on a budget plan isn't always the answer because all a budget plan does is spread out your expenses over the course of the year. It's not like you save any money which is why I don't buget plan.

I like to know what I have to pay exactly so I know how much I need to curb my usage.

Re: Lipa vent

Go outside and look at your meter and compare it to what the bill says. It could be a mistake.

I second this. i don't budget either.
There needs to be a revolt. My dad looked into doing windmills in his backyard and ya know that the town of hempstead won't let you do it because of town ordinances. So, there is no choice but solar panels.
It's BS.

My mom writes out her checks with "paid under protest" on the front and back for the fuel surcharge fee, after calling and putting up a stink about the surcharge with the oil prices going down.
If ever there is a successful lawsuit, you have a claim to be paid back the money that you paid.
