Light sleeper/loud sibling
If you had a light sleeping newborn and a noisy toddler, did the baby just get used to the noise? DD startles so easily (so did DS) so she barely napped yesterday because DS kept waking her up. I feel bad telling him to be quieter all the time because he's really not THAT loud and just acting his age

Re: Light sleeper/loud sibling
My kids are 22 months apart
I taught my older child to be quiet but obviously its not always the case that he listens
I believe my younger child got used to it
they share a room so vice versa they became used to it as well
my older kid would wake up to any sound but now that he has the baby crying he learned to sleep right thru it
amazing these kids ....amazing

Re: Light sleeper/loud sibling
My second DD is a light sleeper and older DD is loud. No, she did not learn to sleep through it. It is very hard for DD2 to nap during the day. I moved our bedroom to give DD2 her own room, which helps a little. I try to take DD1 outside and keep the monitor with me when DD2 naps. DD2 doesnt nap nearly as much DD1 did.

Re: Light sleeper/loud sibling
Luckily, Giovanna can sleep through anything. Nicolas however, not so much. He has good days and bad. I guess it depends on how tired he is. It's definatley gotten better though and he's gotten used to some of the noise that my older son makes. Thank goodness though, they both seem to be able to block out the dogs barking.
