large follicle on day 3
Has anyone had a large follicle on day 3? How do you know if it is a cyst or a follicle?

On day 3 it was 16. Day 7 it is 20.
I am going forward with this as a follicle, but wouldn't it being so big on day 3 make it a cyst?

I had a size similar to that on CD 3 and it was a cyst since I do not develop follicles that big that soon...are you on fertility drugs? I was not allowed to cycle and I am on a forced break....I hope for you its a follie and not a cyst

I haven't been on drugs in months, but planned on taking low dose this month and got the okay to start. Now I am wondering if I should not have. I have never had a follicle that big on day 3, so assumed it was a cyst, but now am going forward as if it is my lead follicle...

I would def reconfirm with your doc...I hope its a follie for you...they should be able to tell with your E2 level if its a cyst or not...

We saw a follicle after I was on the pill for 8 days. The blood work showed it was a cyst and not a follicle...I could have triggered to get rid of it...but I am waiting it out.

Certain levels of certain hormones will be able to help, also the size/sono is a factor. I would call and ask them.

Your estrogen levels should be within a certain range if you have a legit follicle that big. I'm surprised you would have to inquire. It's not the usual course of things, so you doctor should definitely be considering the possibility that it's a cyst. Are they supposed to call you with results?

I usually ask a lot, but didn't inquire about the possibility of it being a cyst. I have to go with my bloodwork was looked at after the results and that is why we are continuing on, but I still question it all, as I have never had this happen where I had a huge follicle so early.
