when throwing a large bash for dc's 1st b day
how many months in advance did you start planning.
Grrrrrr the whole hting kind of stresses me out, dh has a huge family so we are doing a pretty large event, he wasnt to do all cousins, aunts, uncles and friends (which leaves the planning for me) i come from a very small family...so i need to figure out when to start organizing.

I started 4 months in advance. DS has a summer bday and I wanted everything lined up as it gets to be a hectic time of year.

Maybe I'm a nut but I started thinking about his birthday probably when he was 6 mo. old  But didnt start really booking things (hall, DJ, etc) until about 3 months before.

Depends on what time of the year your DC is born
If you are hiring vendors, find a location, caterer, etc.. and you have a June baby. You'd better start in January/February. Places, people book fast. It's not just birthdays. It's graduations, weddings, etc... So places book fast.
I was told for places like museums, etc.. to book at the beginning of the year since DS in born at the end of June.
