Ladies...I want your opinion on this (and no, I don't really think this has to do with dieting or actual fitness)

I've been a member of a very posh gym since April. This is maybe the 4th gym I've been a member of...I've never seen this before...have I just been too sheltered?

MANY women get stark naked in the locker room- STARK NAKED.

I have never seen this happen at ANY gym...ever. And, there isn't even a door that has to be opened to get in to this locker room- you just walk around one corner and then another corner and voila, you're in the ladies locker room.

I could NEVER...

So, here's what I'm looking for thoughts on...getting STARK NAKED in a semi public place...

ets: and, would you feel weird using the locker NEXT TO the stark naked person??

for me, NEVER! I am not even comfy walking around my house stark naked!!! I always think my neighbors can see in!!!

Never! I never did it in Gym class for swimming! I'd go change in a locked door room!

What about being NEXT to these people? Last night, this lady was buck naked right in front of the locker my purse was in. I felt SO GROSSED OUT having to walk over to her and say "SCUSE ME"

having worked in many gyms both on LI, NYC, and other states, it is VERY common.

It was even worse for me, because as a worker they wanted to ask me questions. I used to avoid the lockerroom at all costs and tried to shower when it was off peaks!

Yeah, they do this at the University gym I go to. I don't like this at all.

I don't mind walking around my house stark naked- obviously only when I'm alone or it's just me and hubby- and of course- with all blinds drawn!

But when it comes to getting stark naked in public- NO WAY. Never in front of strangers. Bra and panties are ok- because that is just like being in a bathing suit on the beach. But no way am I going to stand around in a locker room with my goods hanging out for all to see!

I just got back from the gym, and I was washing my hands at the sink. I glance in the mirror and there are two women talking to one another, completely naked. Just letting it all hang out.

It's great they are so comfortable in their own skin that they can walk around the room naked, but it grosses me out. I don't need to see cha cha first thing in the morning

There would be no way on earth I'm getting naked in front of people at a public gym. Maybe in a private changing room, yes, but out in the open? No thank you!

Would I feel uncomfortable? Yes, a little bit. Honestly, I'd be skeeved at the thought of sitting on a bench where some other woman's naked @ss was just sitting before me!

Here's another thought... I would NEVER want to sit my naked butt on a bench that had GOD KNOWS WHAT on it beforehand.

ETA: I don't think it's a big deal, but it's totally NOT for me.

My gym membership is currently frozen, but quite a bit of the women there walk around stark naked.
You have to go to the bathroom stall if you want to change in private (which I always did). I used to take a water aerobics class alot and I just don't feel comfortable, its not easy putting on a bathing suit in a bathroom stall.

I do not see women walking around naked at my gym locker room so it would make me uncomfortable to be around that (not used to it). And I could never do that myself. Not only am I not comfortable with my body, I don't see why it's necessary.

My husband works for a Finnish company. He is part of the management team and whenever they have these offsite sessions in Finland, they go to the sauna together. All of these men and women who WORK together, go to the sauna and talk while they are COMPLETLY NAKED. I told my husband that I would quit first.

I am used to this since I was a ballet dancer; I've seen women fully naked in dressing rooms have the audacity to put their feet up on the dressing table and clip toenails in the nude; I have always tried to "cover up" as best I can, even in quick-change situations or I've always tried to turn my back. So, I guess my answer is being stark naked makes me icky...but I'm sort of used to it, if that makes sense.....

I would NEVER walk around naked in the locker room EVER!
I don't see how two friends want to carry on a conversation without any clothes.

I have been a member of a few gyms where the women walk around bush in view in the locker room. It shocked me the first few times I saw it.. but they have the same parts as I do, so it no longer has an effect on me.

ME? I would never in a MILLION years go naked in a locker room or anywhere else. I even change my gym clothes in a changing room or bathroom stall because I am so modest.

I've seen ladies stark naked in the gym locker room before. It's common.

I personally woudn't do it. But that's just me. Some woman are very comfortable with themselves and around others.

Just be glad your company doesn't have a gym on premises and you didn't see a CO-WORKER naked!

It was always like that at my old gym. There was a pool, whirlpool and steam room so I think a lot of people had to change and shower etc.

What REALLY grossed me out was the thought of their nakkie azzes sitting on the bench that I was. Needless to say I never sat down

I don't think it would bother me. I know we all have the same body parts.

But on a personal note, it's not something I would ever feel comfortable doing.
