Ladies, I am "that" mom - I couldn't even make it through preschool orientation...*updated*
without crying. That's right...in front of everyone - all the parents, teachers, helpers, and ferrets, I cried at Talia's preschool orientation, and now I am mortified.
Great way to start the year. I don't even KNOW what to expect when she actually GOES to school next week. 
eta: So last night we went out to dinner with my family and a friend of mine and Talia. Next to us sat a woman with an ADORABLE three month old baby that reminded me so much of Talia (she had a lot of hair when she was little and so did this baby) - well that is it - I just start bawling....
I feel like Talia was JUST that little - and now she was sitting in a chair all by herself feeding herself ices and didn't need my help at all...
I think I am just going to be a mess around her birthday every year- seriously they do really grow up too fast.
And now I embarrassed myself in public too...

You shouldn't be embarrassed. Really what a tribute to Talia that you are having such a hard time letting her growing up. It probably would have brought me to tears too!

I am sure everything will be fine next week... DO they have a split seesion the first day? Jacob only goes for an hour..
The Director of my program showed us where she has 2 big tissue boxes in her office that we can use on the first day... They know how first time mommies will react....

While you may be the only mom at that preschool orientation, you're definitely not the only one that's done it.
Some of those moms could be on their 2nd or 3rd kid so they're better about it.
Just wait until the moving up ceremony!

girl, I CRIED after I made DH drop Bella off with me on Tuesday...and she has been in daycare/school for MUCH longer.
Meanwhile, Bella was like BYE MOMMY...i wuv yoo

I'm right there with mommy2bella - I teared up the first day of camp, the first day of her new toddler class, the first play, the first blah blah blah blah blah...
TRUST ME, you are not the only one - it just shows what a good mommy you are

i sat in my car and cried, almosted sobbed when bryan moved into his new 2 year old class room at daycare just the other day while other moms and dads were coming and going inthere cars.

All of these milestones are always harder w/your first child. I have been a weepy mess all week, sending my 1st born off to kindergarten. Meanwhile, my DD's preschool orientation was today, too...and I didn't bat an eyelash. It's hard to explain...but, it's totally normal and I'm sure all those parents could feel for you!

Thats great that shes in preschool, by me they can't start till there potty trained.....is Talia potty trained yet or she doesn't have to be?

You are not alone. I cried at my son's nursery orientation, pre-k orientation, both moving up ceremonies, Mother's Day show (that one KILLED me), Christmas Show (Catholic school- again...a tear-gusher). And I am almost POSITIVE I will shed some tears at next week's Kindergarten orientation.
These kids are growing up way too fast.
