KOHLS - Valley Stream
My friend just sent me this. Her friend on FB just posted it. Wanted to make you all aware. Gave me the chills!
I started off today like any other day taking the kids to school and trying to figure out what errands I could get done while my oldest 2 are in school. I was so excited to have a 30% off kohls coupon, so I decided to get that out of the way because everyone needs new sneakers, my last min Christmas gifts etc. So I was already in RVC dropping off at nursery school and decide to go to kohls in valley stream. (bigger store, usually less crowded). Parked my car went in with the baby (18 months) around 950-10am. I walked around, got all my sneakers, gifts, picture frames, a few toys on sale, and then my son decided to poop. So I asked where the bathroom was, and was told to go back down stairs to ground level. I left my cart by the customer service and ventured down with the baby and diaper bag. I walked to the family room which was locked, so I turned to go into the women's bathroom. Walked in and noticed the changing table was in the corner to my left. threw down my coat and laid the baby down to change him. I heard the door open to the bathroom and my instinct was to turn and look at who walked in. a Spanish women mid 40's with a hat and a lot of layered clothing came in and said to me "he is a beautiful baby." I didn't respond and had a horrible feeling in my chest and stomach that something was wrong. she was opening all the bathroom stalls to see if anyone was in there. I gave up struggling to put on a clean diaper and decided to just pick him up and leave. she came toward me and told me to give her the baby. I didn't even believe what she was saying. I yelled NO NO. stop, and she grabbed my sons forearm, and said again "give me the baby" I hit her arm and pushed her away and pulled my son close to me and ran out of the bathroom as fast as I could and up the escalator, got to the top and 2 nice women said to me are you ok?? you look pale what's wrong? I managed to explain what happened to security, police came in less than 5 minutes. there were 8-10 police officers who took me to security where I spent 2 more hours reviewing tapes only to realize the woman was with a white male in a business suit who directed her to follow me to the bathroom. they left together in a taxi shorty after i ran away.
detectives and crime scene are involved and it is an attempted abduction. they took me to my car 3 hours later and I came home to replay this over and over in my head. I can not even believe that this happened today I am a mess!!!!! hoping some of her pictures make it to the paper or news so people are aware of her appearance and his as well. I have never in my life felt like I did today. please be careful and don't take your eyes off your kids for one second

Yes I read about this as well on FB as everyone was sharing and also now the media is reporting the story as well. How scary!

Did this assholle think this woman was going to just hand her baby over to her and quietly let her walk out of the store with it?
Without screaming and yelling and putting up a fight and getting others involved?
Unless she had a weapon, there is no way she'd get a baby from a mother without a huge scene and fight
Unreal!

It's like the whole reporting of this story was taken from her FB post.
They absolutely SHOULD be releasing photos of these people from the video surveillance footage.... so others can be on the look out.

Isn't DaniJude's SO in law enforcement in Nassau?

The victim was a friend of a friend and I am still shaking - I run errands frequently at this kohls as it is near where I work. So scary.

She's a friend of a friend of mine too, we're from the same town and our kids go to school together. SO scary! They have to catch these animals. Hopefully the cabbie can help

This was all over my FB yesterday in the mom groups I am part of and also came up in my Mommy and Me class today. There was some uncertainty as to whether it was real but since ABC is reporting it, then it must be true.
Truly awful. I used to love going to the mall, getting a coffee, and browsing. When I had just DD, I would take her too so we could get out of the house for a bit. I'm not sure I can do that anymore.
I agree they need to release footage. Seems off that they are not.

You can't live like that though. Never going to the mall because of isolated incidents like this.
Stuff like this, although very scary and horrifying, is rare.
That would be like never driving again because people die in car accidents daily

Notice that this abductor woman doesn't have a purse with her? She wasn't shopping! They probably didn't release footage or pictures because their leads probably suggested that she was either a flight risk or connected to something else.
