Just venting: Does your mother ever say things to you that hurts you like daggers?

What i heard this weekend-
- ewww, dont go to the pharmacy with your hair like that. You look ugly

- You're not going shopping with Anthony? What a strange relationship you guys have. He must not really love you! (She says this **** to me all the time)

loves Anthony but always insinuates that he's not good enough.

Never is really proud of my accomplishments. Always expects more.

My mom never says things that intentionally would hurt me, but she is a ditz sometimes and can't help herself.

I would rip her a new one if she ever said those things! Do you call her on it? Do you say Why would you say something so hurtful? As far as the looking ugly thing I know some other Mom's that make comments but saying your Fh doesn't love you that takes the cake. I would probably say, well yes I prefer to be independent and realize I don't have to spend every waking moment with FH.

Yes, more so when I was young, but it hurts all the same... I think her best was when she was rifling through my closet, started throwing clothes on the floor, turned to me and said, "it's a shame you got so fat and can't fit into any of your clothes anymore"

my mom will say " oh you are going to wear those pants"
or, well I think you should cut all your hair off it will make you look younger. Just for that I wont cut it. Childish, YES but whatever. She also has a way of what I like to call suggesting which is really her telling you how to do something. I snap back at her so I think she knows she makes me nuts...doesnt seem to stop her either I cant do anything about it, shes still my mom.

Things just spurt out of their mouths with no rhyme or reason and leave you sick to your stomach!

Mostly about my weight...I was telling my mom about someone I know who has recently lost tons of weight..and I said "But her goal is X lbs, she still has some more to lose". My mom said to me "Well, X lbs, that's still not skinny, and she is short". I said, well I am not far from there either Mom, and we are not all size 6 like you!!!!!!!! She was horrified that I am not 125 lbs like I used to be.
