Whatever Baby Dilly wants, Baby Dilly gets! 19 Kids and Counting star Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, still have several months to go before welcoming their firstborn son, but they've already got a pretty good head start on shopping for the future bundle of joy. The couple, who married in July, registered for baby gifts at their local Walmart in Rogers, Ark., where Dillard is a tax accountant.
Like their wedding registry -- which included requests for cereal, instant noodles, WD-40, neon duct tape, and even guns -- the Dillards' baby registry features some surprising (but very practical) items. Among them? Orange Gatorade, Fanta, Dr. Pepper, a fitness stabililty ball, and gift cards to Olive Garden and Subway.
Of course, the first-time parents-to-be also registered for a bevy of baby things, such as diapers, wipes, bibs, baby oil, pacifiers, blankets, changing pads, car seats, and bedding. Bigger-ticket items include a Fisher-Price Jumperoo, a Graco "Newborn Napper Station," and a jogging stroller.
Duggar, 23, first announced her pregnancy in August. Earlier this week, TLC confirmed that she and Dillard, 25, are expecting a baby boy.
"I've been very queasy...morning sickness," Duggar told Us Weekly in early September. "But there are good days and there have been better days." Of her hubby, she added: "He is so good! He makes sure he gives me snacks before I get out of bed...just so I'll have something in my tummy before I start moving around...He is amazing. Married life is the best!"

I think it's a strange registry. BUT they had 1000 people at their wedding so maybe they are making sure they have a huge registry incase people want to buy things?
Also he works for Walmart!

what does gatorade; fanta; and food GC have to do with having a baby? I guess they don't want to have to go to the store at all for anything they may need? hey they won't have to cook if they get Olive garden take out.

I think they also had Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops on their wedding registry.
It just reinforces that these girls have ZERO life experience and behave like 12 year olds.

I think I read somewhere that he wanted the Fanta and sodas b/c he will need the caffeine for when the baby is born. I forgot where I read that..as for the other stuff...who knows?

I would think the smaller items can be purchased by her younger siblings..its cute now all 18 of them can afford something on the list.
How did she know the babys gender so early? Blood test?

They live in a different way than most of America so it probably makes sense to them and people around them. ITs kind of like celebrities who have registries with products worth $$$$$ and people say negative things about that as well--its all relative.

There are a million little baby items that are under $5 that aren't a bottle of Fanta. I still think its just immaturity.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Even kids that are homeschooled get a very good education. These kids were all homeschooled but on a biblical base, nt a science (or I will say FACT based) curriculum. So if there were any discussion about the real world, how the world works, science, philosophy, politics, current events......I'm not really sure what they could talk about. I applaud their parents for wanting to give them a good, wholesome childhood. But sheltering them does none of them any good.
Did any of you see the episode where the Bates daughter got married? One of the scenes was in her new home with the FH. Her bedroom was pink. Like babydoll pink. Like EVERYTHING was pink..bedspreads, paint, table, lamp, pillows. She said something like she always wanted a pink a room. (she is 1 of 18 or 19 as well). It struck me that she was never allowed to her TRULY own identity or any decision in her life that she could make because she shared a bedroom with 10 sisters. And how does the husband feel that he is going to bed every night in his wifes fantasy PINK bedroom? Does anyone teach them about emasculation?
And I cant imagine going from holding hands ONLY at 10am, to being naked and doing the nasty with a man at 10pm. They know NOTHING about being a couple, being alone and being intimate.
Honestly, I cant imagine never having one private moment with a man then having sex that night.

ITA with all of this. I have seen every episode and the Bates ones too. The Bates girl is soooooo immature and yes, I agree they dont really know about the real world.
The parents have helped both kids who got married out with homes and Josh, a job. They seem to still control them after they leave the home.
Jim Bob and the older son, John David creep me out and I feel horrible for Jana as she is used so badly by that family. These girls have no self esteem or confidence.

That's all Jill knows how to do is care for kids/babies. She has taken care of all the younger siblings. Its really sad that she can't really enjoy a little bit of freedom.
