It's been a hell of a day-UPDATE!....UPDATE 2
Today was my NT scan and my baby showed a thicken neck . I just knew something was wrong when the sono tech was doing the sono. She brought the doctor in and told me they need to do further testing. I broke down in tears-I can't believe this is happening. WHY?! She told me I had 2 options. I can do CVS testing which is a biopsy of my placenta and I can have the results in 24-48 hours and will check for all the major chromosome disorders or I can have the blood test which would get results back in 2 weeks. I did the biopsy today so now I just sit here and wait which is absolute torture. I can't stop crying-I am a complete mess. Has anyone had this happen and everything come back normal?? Please share. If not please pray for me that everything is ok. I went through 3 rounds of IVF to get here and now I have to worry more 
Update:
I got the call from my doctor...everything came back FINE!!!!!! I can finally breath!!! and its a BOY
Update #2:
I went this morning for a re-check of the NT scan even though the CVS testing came back ok since im over 35 and ivf patient they wanted to check again.
Well baby still had extra fluid in his neck. They don't know why. The doctor thinks maybe the baby has an infection and also took blood for other things. He also said it can be nothing. So now I sit here and worry again . I feel like I can't catch a break and be happy and enjoy this pregnancy. He also did a full check on all body parts of the baby and he said everything looks fine to him. I am so upset

I don't have experience with this but my prayers are with you. I feel like I've heard a lot of good stories on here after they get bad results initially. I'm praying that's the case for you! Keep us posted.

Sending you so many prayers!!! Sonograms are never 100% and the baby positioning can throw off the measurements too!! Try to stay positive that all will be okay. I'm hoping for the best

Been there - down to the hysterical crying, mostly due to fear of the unknown.
I didn't have the option of a quick result test, but an additional scan at 16 weeks showed no markers for any chromosomal abnormalities. I didn't do any invasive testing, because the outcome didn't really matter to me.
False positives based on nuchal thickness are very, very, common.

My best friend went through this. Had thickened neck fold so went for the CVS- totally normal. The Dr.'s were still convinced there was a cardiac defect based on the thickened nuchal. Had in depth cardiac U/S @ 20 weeks that came back normal but again dr.'s still convinced there was something wrong. Baby born totally healthy and full term at 41 weeks. She opted to forgo testing for the next 2 pregnancies as it caused her immense amounts of undue stress and the nuchal fold testing has lots of false positives. I also decided against having the nuchal testing done after helping her through her crisis. We just did the anatomy scan at 20 weeks.

It's been a hell of a day
This exact same thing happened to me. Was waiting for the blood test results in absolute agony and everything came back normal. I am now 27 weeks and all was perfect at the anatomy scan as well as a fetal echocardiogram. I still feel like I'm holding my breath until my baby is here but that NT scan has a lot of false positives. hang in there!!!

 No experience with this specifically but I can completely identify with what it's like to go through fertility treatments and then go through similar worries. I know how it feels to feel like something's gotta give and you just can't catch a break.
48 hours for the results it's a quick turnaround time. Hopefully soon you'll have the reassurance you need.

That is EXACTLY what mine was I believe. It's also considered "borderline" thickened (as I'm sure you've googled). Sending prayers that it's nothing. Hang in there!!
