That's how my DD's school does it too. I'm not sure what happens though if you hate the pics and you've already paid..........I've always been happy with her pics. Picture Day is tomorrow, fingers crossed I get a good shot for the 3rd year in a row!

Like everyone one said its normal, actually was like that in my sons daycare. I also buy the cheapest, like $20 package. Like to see how he grew year to year.
I know this may sound morbid but I like the recent pic with his information they give, God forbid something happened and I needed a recent picture.

I got I am the odd one my DC daycare is not like this. they take the pictures we get them we pick which package and which poses we want.
I don't like the idea of having to pay first before seeing the pics.

i always buy the smallest or second to smallest packages. you can chose after to add more but will have to pay for shipping.

This is how my daycare did it too for 5 years- so that is why I was surprised by this once we got to K.
I guess that is how it's done in elementary school though.
