Is it really so great that fireworks are needed?
I mean, that's great that the Giants won the Super Bowl, but fireworks? MY neighbors are all going crazy

I have no interest in football, and didn't even watch the Super Bowl, so maybe I'm just underestimating the excitement of this. That, and I live with a Patriots fan.

i never watch it all season or any for that matter but i for some reason got into it this year and i could not get off the edge of my couch at the end

Yes, I think the win justifies fireworks!
Even tho I am a pats fan & living in New England, DH is a die-hard Giants fan & I cannot express the joy he has--if he had fireworks---they would be going off!

It is fireworks worthy!! The Giants started 0-2 and their coach was almost fired. He promised the Tish's he would win the Super Bowl. The next team practice he walked in and said "We are going to win the Super Bowl." The team bought into it and achieved it.
The Patriots were on the verge of a perfect season and NY not only crushed it but they are the Champs!!!

It was an amazing ending-- and I HATE football. Our neighbors were setting them off too and then we had/ have the police helicopter going overhead with the search light

Driving home from our superbowl party down Hempstead Tpke, we saw tons going off. There were also a bunch of people screaming on the block we were on.

For those who over the excitement.....
YES it is worth it. This was the greatest upset in history, ESPECIALLY considering how the Giants started out this season.

I never watch football, but I was totally into it- ESPECIALLY because the game was so good! Such a nail biter all the way to the end! I totally got the hype. It was amazing.

That game made history.......the giants upset a perfect season for the patriots...not to mention that they were the underdogs...... Are fireworks needed? Helllllll Ya! We have a retired pro ball player on our block, the party was outrageous............as it should have been.............

Of course fireworks are necessary. NY finally has won a championship! We deserve fireworks. I heard fireworks going off here in Queens too plus some cars honking and people cheering. I am so happy for this city right now. This is awesome! An underdog team ruined the perfect season of a dynasty team. It's like a little wimpy nerd punching a big bully in the face!
DH is a big Steelers fan and last night we were high fiving each other and screaming and cheering for the Giants when they scored. We looked like Giants fans last night...
There is only one NY team I will never root for and that is the Yankees! You couldn't pay me to do that!...
