In YOUR Opinion What Is The Right Age....
For teens to have Sex? Being that teens nowadays seem to be having sex younger & younger....how do you feel about this age wise?

my own opinion? I think 17 or older. I think anyone younger than that really doesn't have the maturity to deal with the feelings, emotions or consequences that go along with sex.

I think it is different for everyone, people mature differently and some are ready and in healthy realtionships at a younger age. But, I would say they should wait at least until they are out of high school. I don't think most kids in high school or younger are equipped financially or emotionally to deal with an unplanned pregnancy or STDs.

I'm not sure I could say one blanket age.
I think it depends on the maturity level of each individual.
I know some 30 year olds who I don't think should have sex!!

I agree with that 100%. I wish I could get power of attorney over some of my friend's love life & I'd gladly give over mine to them.

cant answer that totally depends on the individual. i was 19, 2 months shy of 20, do i regret it? absolutely not... would i do it again in the same order of course.

I have no right to say how old someone should be. My first time I was 16 and it was with my now husband and I dont regret it. Mike and I broke up for 2 months and even then I didnt regret it

Now that I have a daughter, I'd say 30!
Seriously, I guess I would agree with those who said after high school. I teach high school in an all-girls school and while I know many of them are mature and responsible, too many of them are moms at such a young age and that's not a risk I would want my daughter (or students!) taking.

I was pretty young the first time I had sex and I don't think there is one age specific for all teens. Although I feel I was way too young, and in some ways I regret it and others I don't, I think that 17 isn't TOO TOO young...all depends on the individual, some teens are more mature and responsible than others and are emotionally ready, while others are not.

DH and I waited until marriage so I'm not sure I would have an answer for this. I can't believe how young the age is getting for teens to have sex now a days. There really isn't a "right" age so I'm unsure.

I think its different for everyone. Its purely based on the individual. I first had sex at a very young age. Do I regret it? No. It allowed me to make a lot of important decisions/choices later in life the right way.

I would say when there old enough to be a parent....
I was young.....and there is just way too much emotion attached to having sex.....
I wish I wouldve wait til marriage..... not just for religious reasons.... but I think its sooo cool, and I commend those who were able to accomplish it!!!
I hope my son waits... but if he dosent (and he prob wont) I just ask that he is ready to handle all the emotions and possible resposibilites that come with having sex!

I would say 18 or 19, minimum. I'm going to teach my children abstinence when the time comes, and I know it worked for me until I was really emotionally ready enough to handle the responsibility and feelings attached. I think people take sex too lightly, but in my group of friends growing up none of us had sex in high school. We all had boyfriends, and went out and had fun, but it was just something I knew well enough to know I didn't want to do until I was ready.
