Actually had my sights set on the 2012 games until I broke my back a few years ago.

I always loved gymnastics as a kid, so I would probably pick that. I loved the uneven bars, balance beam and floor. I was never good at tricks, but I always had balance and grace. Now I can't even do a cartwheel

Aw, you're so sweet. It's okay, really, it is. Making the Olympics is a long-shot for anyone -- and it's a double-long-shot when it's an equestrian event. You have to not only be a great rider, but you also have to have the right horse who is ready at the right time. My goal was to at least be short-listed for the 2012 games, but who knows what actually would have happened. There are SO many what-ifs. I could have bitten the bullet and gone back to the same level of training, but I decided I wanted a back-up plan b/c injuries can and do happen. I figured riding will always be there - it doesn't have the same age limitations as other sports. Besides, I never gave up riding completely either.
I decided to take some time to pursue a different dream - going to law school - and re-evaulate what I wanted out of horses. I moved back to NY, went to law school, met my DH in NY, got a great job, and still ride. I had two horses all through law school and still have them. I don't have horses of the same caliber as when I was riding / training / teaching full time, anymore, but I have two lovely horses that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. I'm back in more serious training now, though, and I'm considering going back to horses full time in the next few years... so we'll see what the future holds. I probably won't go back to the same level of eventing, but my life will always have horses in it. If my fitness and ability continue to improve back to where I once was, hey - you never know! I seriously doubt I'll ever get to be an international competitor, but I've always been a bit of a dreamer...  So until I'm 125, I'll still hold out on the "maybe one day..." 
I'm happy with my decision and I 1000000000% support the Olympians and international caliber riders out there giving it their all. I know some of the members of this year's Olympic team (trained with one of them for a while) and I couldn't be more excited to be cheering them on!!

I love to play volleyball, so my first choice would be to play indoor volleyball.
