Re: If/when you have a baby, do you and your SO both work?
When we do have a child we will both have to work. The lucky thing for us is that DH works during the day and I work at night. There is an issue with auditions, but we'll figure it out as we go. I can always take the kid with me I guess.

Re: If/when you have a baby, do you and your SO both work?
We will both have to work, as well, but JT works on an alternating schedule, so one week he is home three days a week, and the next week he's home two days during the week. So we will have his mother, who lives five minutes from my job, watch our children from 8am-3pm when I get out of work.

Re: If/when you have a baby, do you and your SO both work?
My Dh works and telecommutes from home and I am a SAHM. So we are both home. It is working out great. If I need to go out..he can watch the baby for an hour while he is working.

I have to work. Dh's salary wouldnt exactly cut it. If I am still @ my job, where I work now, I can bring the baby there. If not, hopefully my mom can help out.

Re: If/when you have a baby, do you and your SO both work?
Right now I am home with the baby and plan to go back to work PT (1-2 nights a week) in February. We would do pretty OK on DH's salary alone but I don't want to have to give up everything and want to be able to do activities and such with the baby. Plus I think it will be good for me to be out of the house a couple of times a week. Also as a pharmacist I need to work a certain amount to maintain my license.

unfortunately yes. I will have my baby in the first week of June, so I will be off for the summer, and will go back in Septemeber. Im trying to save up $$$ so I can take off more time and go back in Janunary.

Re: If/when you have a baby, do you and your SO both work?
I dont think I will go back full time, I just dont think I could do it. Not until my kids were in school at least.
we decided I will work Part time if we cant make it on one salary, and yes things will be a little tighter, but really just us growing up and not wasting money and if thats what it takes we will. DH is going to take on more hours and responsibility at work to bring home more $$$.
We didnt think at first I could work p/t until we looked at the numbers and figured out I really could without that much of a problem.

Re: If/when you have a baby, do you and your SO both work?
I'm a sahm but I have worked p/t here and there the last couple of years. left my f/t job right before she was born. I do some telecommuting and plan to go back f/t next year. It hasn't been super easy but we've managed.
