If I am serving bagels, etc. for DD'd 1st bday...

is it an absolute must to have coffee? Party starts at 11.

I would like to get coffee, but with 50 adults-- a box of Joe from DnD won't be enough, and to get like 4 or 5 would be really annoying with all the other stuff we need to bring/pick up that day.

No, you don't need coffee. I would just do soda and juice makes it alot easier.

I think coffee goes with bagels.

Just have one of your friends or family members pick it up for you. I'm sure they'd love to help out.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I think coffee would be appropriate with breakfast type food. In addition, coffee is typically served with cake.

my MIL has a few urns (btw, they are really called urns??), but will that also be a logistical nightmare??

I am just thinking it might be more trouble than it's worth.

The other thing was I was going to have like each family member pick up one box of Joe so we don't have to deal.

If we have 50 people, how many cups worth would I need? Assuming not everyone will have.

I would get two box of Joe's and call it a day. Not everyone will have coffee, but with breakfast, you should have it.

Ask your MIL to bring the urn, and have her set it up so you don't have to worry about it. We have one too, and it keeps the coffee nice & hot.

I'm not a coffee drinker - but I think you ABSOLUTELY must have coffee if you're doing a breakfast/bruch type of spread. -

Borrow an Urn ........I think mine holds like, 50 cups

Definitely. I would be Chat Icon if none were available. And guaranteed, if it's NOT there, someone is going to ask you for it and you'll have to pull out the pot and make it. The urn is the best option my Farberware one holds 36 cups and takes about 25 minutes to brew, it's the BEST!!!!

Just a word of caution - those boxes of Joe tend to get cold very fast, especially in a party setting when people are lingering and not necessarily drinking it all right away. I'd go with the urn route for sure.

I would try to borrow an urn. If not, 2 boxes of Joe will be good :o) I don't think you need to have enough for everyone. I have seen 2 at parties before

I think you need it. Borrow the urn. It's your best bet.

I couldn't have a party without coffee - my friends and family always ask for it.

Me too! I'd definitely have a family member pick up some Boxes of Joe...that's what we do for DD's b-day parties since I don't even own a coffee pot Chat Icon
