I wish I could turn back time...
To October before my Grandma had a stroke I cannot take that she is in this place that $ucks. She should be at home

I know exactly how you feel, Kathleen. 
My Grandpa went into the hospital on December 10. Now he's in a nursing home, eating through a feeding tube, and getting physical therapy so he can walk and swallow again. Plus he has Alzheimer's so he's not always lucid. I know he's miserable, it breaks my heart.
Many prayers that both your Grandma and my Grandpa return home soon!!!!

I am so sorry Cindy...I had no idea. You just think they will be with you forever you know My Grandma was on a tube until recently...so hard since she loves food (she is Italian )

Exactly, I mean we all know he's lived a good long life, but we still aren't ready to let him go. And we never will be.
My Grandpa is Italian too, so sad that pizza was the last thing he ate. Now he keeps asking for a sandwich and coffee!!
We can lean on each other.

I can totally empathize...my Grandfather had a stroke last May and he has been in a nursing home ever since.
To top that off, they diagnosed him with Alzheimers while he was in the hosptial...
So seeing him become so dependant on others has been especially hard.
He misses home and hates where he is, and whenever I call him and say how are you he replies "how do you think I am?"
Knowing he is miserable is probably the worst part.

He's got the same stupidity at his nursing home too. Someone actually brought him in a tray of food once, I was like "What if we weren't here to refuse it? They would've given it to him and if he tried to eat he would've choked!!!" So we put up a sign that says "No food by mouth".
One nurse actually said to my grandmother, "I don't really want to work in a nursing home, I'm just here for now, I really want to work in a hospital". Nice, real nice. Good thing I wasn't there at the time, I would've kicked the $hit out of her!!!

I'm so sorry to hear this, you can join in our little support group. We aren't sure, my grandfather may or may not have had a stroke, the CAT scans all say differently. His Alzheimer's was diagnosed about 2 years ago, at first I thought the doctor was crazy but then it started to get really bad and this incident seems to have really accelerated it. You're right, knowing how miserable they are really is the worst part.
