I need to vent please about my Mom...

I love her to death and she goes above and beyond for me but I just found out that they are going to visit my sister in Aruba 2 weeks after my c-section

I was really hoping she would be there to help me after the surgery and just be there for whatever but she won't be here.

I think what makes me more upset is that in Oct she and my father spent a month with my sister in Aruba when she had her baby. Her circumstances were a lot different then mine but still. And they just came back last week from another week there and then they chose to visit her right when I am having my baby in Feb. Then can go whenever they want to and they chose then.

I am really hurt.

that stinks, I'm sorry. Maybe you should talk to her about maybe changing her dates. Good luck

I can relate to an extent.... I am the baby of the family-- I think your sis is older, right??

Anyway, my brother lives in CO and has two kids. I honestly think my mom flies out there to see them, more than she drives the 45 mins to an hour to see me. And if you factor in each trip, she definitely spends more time with them. I think a lot of that will change once my baby gets here-- but, still-- when you are used to your mom being one way, it's upsetting to feel like all of a sudden you are second fiddle.

Now, my dad on the other hand-- has a trip scheduled for the week of Presidents Week, school winter break. This is 2 weeks after my due date-- and who knows when I will go. If I go a week late, and then have a boy-- there is a good chance he will miss the bris.

I am a little annoyed that he planned a trip so close to when the baby is getting here-- but, my dad is my dad and he will do what he wants to do. He probably didn't even think of it.

I think since they are so close to Andrew, they are making a strong, strong attempt at having same relationship with sister's baby.

I know my mother is doing that right now. My parents are in NY, I am in NC, my sister is in WA. She is due 12/27.

My mother is going out there for 3-4 weeks...which is right since she was at my house for 3 weeks when I had mine.

But, I know its far off and maybes, but if I get pregnant, a huge chunk of her vaca time just went on WA trip for the year...so I am going to be up a creek.

but she is trying hard to be even stevens and I can understand that. I am happy she is doing that. She really really loves my kid and I think she is trying very hard to love my sister's baby equally.
