how about a child's rosary? a children's bible? her christening dress (if Mom didn't get)? a prayer book?

Cross and chain. That's what I expected from DD's Godparents, wound up running to Fortunoff the morning of her Christening to buy it myself.

Or ask the parents directly.

The traditional gift is a cross (as karacg suggested).

My Goddaughter's family isn't particularly religious and they were using a family heirloom for the christening gown. The Godfather got her a cross. So, I got her something small that was religious and then a share of Disney stock, framed and all. They loved it!

I have bought a few of the personal creation crosses posted by the PP, they are really cute. If I ever have another goddaughter I want to buy her the outfit and a charmbraclet, I will then add to the charmbraclet every birthday so when she's older she will have a full one
