Mom's turning 50 in August, any good ideas for a special gift?
It would be a group of 10 of us (8 adults 2 kids). I was originally going to do a party for her, but she was ADAMANT that she did not want one. Spa gift? Jewelry? Dinner? I want something special, not sure what to do. Could do an overnight to Montauk or something...????

My mom's turning 65 in August. About 20 of us are going to Lake George for four nights (we picked there because it's her favorite local getaway).

for my mom and dad(there bdays are 4 days apart) we all(sisters) got a blanket made up with our picture on it. grandkids and us. they LOVED IT

My sister and I got her a pair of ruby and diamond earrings....she loved them. I think maybe you could go for a spa day with her, and then give her a nice piece of jewelry, something she would never buy for herself.

If you have time, you can videotape interviews with her family members, kids, etc. Ask them to talk about your mom, ask specific questions, etc.
Then along with pictures of your mom through stages of her life, make a DVD combining these pictures with the video interviews.

my mum is turning 50 in two weeks...and I've been STRESSING about what to get her.
I originally purchased an LV bag - my mother doesn't have any "nice" handbags...
Well, when she found out the pricetag, she had me return it...I cried.
So now...we're doing a spa trip!

We took my Mom into the city to see Spamalot for her 50th. We invited her best friend and all of us kids went as well. We did dinner at carmines and then the show. She loved it.

My mom is turning 60 this year and I plan on taking her next spring to a day at a spa like gurneys or east wind and staying overnight, then going shopping at the quilt and gardening stores that are there that she loves.
Is there anything that she likes to do? You could get her a GC for it, or take her there for it.

For her 60th we all chipped in a bought her a 42" Plasma.
