I know it's total bullsh!t but, baby's heartrate and gender?
How many of you found this to be right on for those who know the sex?
Girls have a HR of 140 or higher
Boys, lower than 140

I do not know what I am having, but my cousin and his wife who are due a week after me and are having a boy said their baby's heart rate was 162.

right, so that totally disproves the theory.
I remember reading in an article that a college class was discussing this "theory" and to add to the discussion, the entire class flipped a coin to determine sex. The coin flip was more accurate than using the HR as a gender predictor.

I always heard over 160 was girl and lower was boy.
So, when I was at my anatomy scan the heart rate was 160+ plus so I get all excited thinking I am going to know, so when the tech said BOY I was like *****?!
But, he is totally a boy

With my first, the heartrate was in the 150's-160's....hes a  This baby is usually in the 150's, sometimes goes into the 140's, so who knows!
**I have to say, even though I don't believe this, and my son disproved(?) it, I think that this baby is a boy and the only reason is because of the heartrate!

Emerson's HB was consistently 144 throughout my pregnancy so I guess in my case it was true but it's probably more of a coincidence than anything.

IMO - It really depends on WHEN
what i mean is, when i was 12 weeks, the baby's HB was 168 so i thought it was a girl
now, at 29 weeks, HB was 136 today at the hospital and yes, its a boy

In the beginning, the baby's HR was above 150, but the closer I got to the level 2, the more it came down to 130-140, and now boy. So I choose other, b/c I have no clue. sorry.

It was accurate with my first. I never asked what the heartrate was the second time around, so I'm not sure for him.

My had a heartrate of 160 at the last visit! The doctor told me it was because she was awake, but it was intersting that my Level II revealed a girl!

I dont remember with DD, but with DS he was all over the place, somtimes in the 160's sometimes in the 140's- i guess it depended on what he was doing in there.
With this one, each time the HB has been in the 140's and i dont know what it is.

I was told the baby's heart rate would depend on what it's doing...like if it's sleeping or moving around....
If it's moving around, then it would be higher...
I was also told it depends on when in the pregnancy you hear it...like in the first trimester they are faster...
Who knows?
