I just don't get it..
Very offensive regardless of your political beliefs. I would NEVER put share or post something like about about ANY American president. I think there needs to be a level of respect for our leader even if you don't agree with his policies.

I just don't get it..
I don't understand the 2nd amendment violations that the NRA and supporters keep screaming about.
The 2nd amendment states the right to bear arms. ARMS is not defined. I am sure if the founding fathers had been forced to define ARMS then we would all have the right to own a couple of muskets, maybe a cannon.
I don't have the right to own a nuclear weapon. I probably would have a hard time obtaining anthrax or agent orange. Probably would get in a little bit of trouble if I started building pipe bombs......... and those too are ARMS, albeit regulated. And I'm sure someone will say something like "but those are not used for defense" or "but you're being ridiculous".. where in the 2nd amendment does it say I can only have a weapon for self defense? OR that my weapon has to be one which can be aimed or is discriminate? Here's a hint:
"Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
It doesn't.
The second amendment does not state you can own a gun, bomb, cannon, musket, knife.......... it states ARMS. That is a broad, broad definition and many of the things that can be used as arms ARE already regulated without question. But the argument is always about GUNS and our right to have them. Please show me where the founding fathers wrote the word GUNS in the 2nd amendment.
There is a limit to MANY things that are LEGAL. I can't buy Sudafed in bulk, but I can buy numerous high capacity magazines and ammo unchecked in many, many states. I can't buy fireworks in many states, but can buy thousands of rounds of ammo. That? Scary.
So, when people claim "the 2nd amendment is being effed with" or "my rights are being effed with" they're wrong. The constitution and bill of rights have been amended numerous times, and the intent of the founding fathers has been interpreted and evolved to suit modern times. Why should the 2nd amendment be immune to the process of evolution?

I have to ignore this kind of propaganda. People who post these things, the people *I know* on FB who do, generally lack the intellect to realize these kinds falsities. Not saying everyone, but a distinct handful on my feed.

I have said this many times that it's like people get up in arms without even KNOWING what they're fighting for. We are such a "me me me" country that even the mere IDEA of changing something for the benefit of mankind has to be turned into some misguided attempt by our government to turn us into a dictatorship.
I think we need to be more scared of the guntoting masses who have no ability to understand the 2nd ammendment than the actual government

No flames from me- I agree with you.
Other parts of NY are not like NYC and LI, I hate to say. There are parts that are really rural and very closed off from the rest of the world, figuratively anyway. I went to college upstate and met a lot of kids who were book-smart but didn't really have a sense of the world- they were from super small towns with graduating classes of 38 and had never been anywhere. They were always full of questions about the city and wanted to know everything. It was the only time in my life I'd ever been cool.  And those kids were in the minority in that they were seeking higher education- my roommate told me that nearly a third of the girls in her class were pregnant at graduation.
