I have a cold...recommend your Meds or a Trick!
Help! I cannot breathe from my nose. I have never ever gotten a cold this bad. Of course, I would get sick on the 2 days I have off. Any suggestions on medications or tricks? I have tried:
Benadryl,
Tylenol Cold/Flu
Allegra
Zicam
Night Quill, Day Quill
Coldeeze
HELP!!! Please?

DH takes Tylenol Cold and that helps..

I just take tons of vitamin C and drink lots of water. Feel better!

Hot shower with steam. As hot and you can stand it. Get lots of rest too!

Believe it or not, gargle with peroxide mixed with water. It kills the germs in your tonsils/ throat and speeds your recovery time!

i'm going to sound like some sort of witch doctor, but for bad congestion you should try nasal irrigation with a saline solution. Google netti pots and you will see a ton of them, or you can just go ghetto and mix a mild salt water solution and use an eye dropper or whatever to let the salt water solution run into your nose.
Also, echinacea and goldenseal liquid mixed into water (or crystal light if you cant take the taste) and drink throughout the day.
You might want to go to a doctor if it doesnt clear up just to make sure you don't have a sinus infection or something. Hope you feel better!

When I was 18 and still seeing my ped... he gave me some GOLDEN advice. He told me to get the Vitamin C tabs that are extended release, to take 3000mg the first day that you are dealing with the cold, and 2000mg every day after.
I find that the life expectancy of the cold is shortened by sooooooooooooooooooo much. I also use Theraflu overnight... I LOVE that stuff!

salt in warm water every few hours.
DH loves green tea also but i'm not a tea person.
and believe it or not - DIMETAP. it is the BEST!!

I tried Thura Flu the last time I had a cold.
It worked for me.

I just had a cold and I always try to take Emergen-c (spelling?). It's packets that you mix with water and drink. I know it has 1,000 mg of vitamin c plus a bunch of other vitamins/minerals. It really helped me. Also, the theraflu you take a night is GREAT. It really helps you feel better and get a good night's sleep. Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I use nasal irrigation too but I have an electric one. It is really important that you can breathe out of both nostrils if you use it. Do not use it if one side is clogged or the solution will have no where to go and could end up flooding your ear drums! It is great though when used properly. It has helps me to prevent getting sick and with my allergies.

i just heard about this new thing today:
a neti pot!
try it!!
i got one today- it's like a genie lamp that you fill with warm salt water and it goes in one nostril and out the other and then vice verse- it cleans u out!
