I had a tough week...Could some one please brighten my day and help me out?? Our Summer Lyn pictures.(NOW ADDED)
Last Monday, I was changing Brody after lunch and my eyes started to itch and my lips started to tingle. Within minutes, my eyes swelled shut.
I called Ava's Allergist, and he told me to take 4 teaspoons of her children's Benadryl and if it got worse, to call him back and I might have to stick myself with her epi-pen.
The swelling went down, and he called me back every 30 minutes for 2 hours. He asked what I had eaten, and I said "Nothing new, just a PB& J sandwich". So he said I may be allergic to peanut butter like Ava. I thought no way, I have eaten it my entire life.
I went and got tested, and it showed negative. So we figure it's just a freak thing and hope it doesn't happen again- it's safe for me to eat peanut butter again.
The next morning Ava woke up with 104 fever and misses her last 2 days of school and was devastated that she couldn't say goodbye to her boyfriend and best friend.
Then on Friday when I went for a high light, instead of my usual blond, I decided to try something bold. We dyed my hair brown with a big blond streak in the front..Can you say Cruella Deville or angry, Goth eighth grader!!!
The worst part was- my hair was gross and we had our long awaited family photo shoot with Summer!
We had a great shoot and Summer was wonderful!
When we got home, I feed Ava and Brody, had a PB &J sandwich, and was on my way to Stop and Shop with Brody and then Bam!!! My eyes tingled and swelled shut, my lips burned and I got a hideous rash on my face. I had to drive home barely able to see.
Called Dr again and same thing Bendryl, come in on Monday. He said that even though my Peanut test was negative, there is 5% of the population who are allergic, and it doesn't show on a scratch test and I will need a blood test!
Then this morning, I woke up wiith the flu, I can't even stand up.
Sooooo, enough of my complaining, I just had to get it out..
So, my favor is, I got a few teasers from Summer, and they are in my album titled "Brody and Ava", could someone please post them for me???

Peanut allergy is nothing to mess with. Though my sons allergist told us Almond butter is much less allergenic-try that with the epipen at the ready Your kids are GORGEOUS. Your son has that peaches and cream look(I should add that to the "old sayings" thread on NFR

I am part of that 5 %! A few years ago I started becoming allergic to a bunch of things that I have eatenn for years! I sometimes test pos. sometimes test neg. but when I eat it I am truly allergic!
Hope this week gets better for you!
