I am livid at the comments made by Silverman tonight..anyone else?
This was mentioned in the vma's thread but I am so angry that I need to post about it.
I cannot believe that Sarah Silverman called Britney Spears' kids mistakes!!!!!!!!!!! How wrong is that?!?!? Now dont get me wrong, I havent been a fan of Britneys in quite a while BUT to bad mouth children like that?????? What if they see that later on in life..how are they going to feel?!?!?!
If I were Britney, I would be waiting in the wings to kick her A SS! Although, something tells me she was A. too high to even know what was going on and/or B. doesnt care about her kids enough herself to care about the comment in the first place.
But I am LIVID!!!!!!!!! I find NO HUMOR in saying that about children for any reason at all. That girl makes me sick and I will NEVER watch her in ANYTHING ever again!!!!!

Yeah, that was pretty bad! I just saw some of it at 11:00 and how horrible to say something like that. I really dislike Sara Silverman but have found her funny once in awhile. But to say something like that about 2 innocent little boys - for an effing laugh? (which is what she got, maybe 1 laugh bc I don't think anyone thought it was funny in the audience either) Like her or not, her kids are not fair game. It's not like Britney hasn't given you 10 or 20 other things to snark on... ITA it was in really really poor taste. As a parent, I'd hate to think of my kids being the butt of a joke bc someone wanted to keep the giggles about me going.

Sarah Silverman's "comedy" style is to be off beat and mean. She is the total opposite of her husband Jimmy Kimmel...I guess opposites really do attract. If she leaves the audience po'd and mad then she was successful in a dark way.

Personally I like her--not all the time though
My DH and I ove the Sarah Silverman Proejct show on Comedy Central
We are big Lewis Black, Bob Saget fans so we like the dirtier comedy I guess lol
I do not always agree with what she says though

I'm not a fan of Silverman and didn't watch the VMA's last night, but---
How many people have said it is wrong for Brit to have those children and she doesn't deserve to be a mother, etc. etc.
I have seen this over and over on these boards - check out ALL the Brittany posts on Celebrity ---noone thinks she should have had those children.
Sarah Silverman just verbalized it to millions.
I don't think she said anything about the children themselves - it was more like she said it was a mistake for Brittany to have them since she is unqualified to be a mother.
Which is pretty obvious at this point.

I love Sarah Silverman (Jesus Is Magic was hysterical), but I agree the babies should be off limits. But I do agree with pp, that I think she WAS refering to Britney, rather than the babies themselves as mistakes.
But that is her style of humor, to be offensive.

Sara bombed last night. I usually like her but she sucked last night. I don't think her comments about Brit's kids were anything to be up in arms about but they weren't very funny either. Unfortunately, there are worse things those kids will see and hear about their mother when they get older.

Although I am not a fan of Britney and I do think she made MANY mistakes and should NOT be a mother, I do not think the jokes were appropriate, esp following Britney performing? It was weird....and uncalled for. Not funny.

It isn't that she made fun of Britney, it is that she made fun of her kids. The KIDS didn't do anything to anyone. It is possible that Silverman thought she was making fun of Britney, but in reality it came across like she was making fun of innocent babies.

I agree, I felt bad for the boys, just like I did when one of the tabs had a headline that Brit called the boys mistakes. If I read that my parents said that about me (true or not) I'd have been pretty messed up in the head.
I think it would have been better if she'd done a Britney to June Cleaver type comparison, you know?

I agree with this.
Although I do find some of her "Jesus is Magic" stuff very funny. For me she goes back & forth between laughing & making me uncomfortable - which is her comedy style.

While I think the vagina and kid jokes may have been a bit much for a "family" show, I got no problem with it. MTV loved the whole thing. They know people are gonna watch the VMA's to see either a good performance or a train wreck. They know people are gonna be talking about the show the next day on forums just like this, and visiting MTV.com to check out the good, the bad, and the ugly. They make out $$ either way.
Yeah, Sarah's a bit annoying sometimes and sometimes just totally unfunny. I wouldn't get my panties all in a bunch over her. It's comedy...anything and anyone is fair game.

Totally agree with you...I think there were a lot worst things said and done in this instance.
ETA: I personally don't like Silverman's style but she says some hysterical things at times.
