HSG Test Update down at the bottom

I am just wondering how is this test I have to take it on tuesday what should I expect? How long will I know if my tubes are block or clear will I know that day?

My Dr told me right then and there. For me it was painful and my tubes were open....it seems some people have pain, some are ok. Its hard to say, but I would take at least a few motrin before the test.

Once its over, the pain is gone ( if you have any)...

Take some painkillers before you go, it can be uncomfortable. I was told by the radiologist there and then that my left tube was blocked, but I guess it depends where you go. Good luck

I found out right there and then. There is some cramping (like a really bad period). It stops once the procedure is over. Take some Ibuprofen before you go.

I would take 2 aspirins before the HSG. They will tell you right away if it's blocked. Like someone mentioned you will feel minor cramps. Good luck!

I would take 3 advil or motrin before the procedure. That is what I did. The test itself wasn't painful....some cramping but nothing bad. I found out my tubes were clear right then and there.

My GF had one done yesterday...for her it was painful...she has one blocked tube. They didn't tell her right then and there...she had to go back in the evening to pick up the film and she saw the report then.

My tubes were open and it was painful while the test was performed but not at all afterwards. There is lots of pressure so its not stabbing pain but more like a dull annoying ache. I was told to take 2 advils 3 hrs before and another 2 1 hr before

Take something before you go - it might take the edge off. I found it to be painful and verrrry uncomfortable, but I have only one tube and the other tube is damaged...we found that out right then and there. It's pretty quick though which is good - once it's over I was a tiny bit crampy for a little while afterwards but that passed real quick.

I took two advil beforehand and it was fine. Sort of like an IUI, if you've had one. It's a little crampy when they are doing it and after you should be fine.
My Dr. told me the results and showed me the film right after I got dressed.

I took something before mine and it hurt. We were unfortunate to not be able to complete the test because of cervical stenosis, but the discomfort was unforgettable to me.

I've had 2 HSG's done. I took 2 motrin beforehand and found out there both times that I have a blocked tube. Luckily I only had some cramp like feelings while on the table and was fine afterwards both times. But I know many women who found it to be uncomfortable

Update :Hello ladies,

Thanks for the help. Well I had my test done today it went okay I felt a little pain and cramping. The dr said it look like my tubes are okay he will send the report over to my dr. So I guess this is great news I will call my dr tommorrow to follow up to make sure.
